I know this isn't a racing theme, but we have some vintage warbird, and aviation enthusiasts on here, so what the heck...
Probably the most famous Boeing B-17 has gone on permanent display at the US Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson AFB just outside Dayton, Ohio.
Here's some links, the photo gallery of the restoration is especially impressive.

Hi Fax,
Tom & I stopped in at the Air Force Museum in March on our way to Sebring.  Well worth a visit.
They were rearranging exhibits then to make room for Memphis Belle.

If you ever have the chance to visit that museum - go!  Admittedly it was back in 1998/9 when I was there but it was very good.

They've added on to it quite a bit since your last visit, including a couple more buildings.  Some of the aircraft on display now were still active and very guarded back then, one of them being a personal favorite of mine, the Lockheed SR71 Blackbird.
If you click on the exhibits, it lists the aircraft & weapons on display.  A pretty amazing collection.
