On hols in Portugal for a couple of weeks and just 'accidentally' noticed that the LMS is on today just down the road, so packed the family up and headed to the circuit - for the qualifying later today .... How incredibly fortunate that there happend to be an LMS race on where we were holidaying (although I think that Mrs JDS has long since stopped believing in coincidence!)

Will try and pop up some pics later it the heat does not melt my camera!

I would be in deep sh*t right now if I were you.
There is no possible way my wife would believe I had not planned that all along.   LOL

Enjoy the time off with loved ones.

Fortune favours the brave!  Well done for taking the opportunity, rather than being threatened by the threat.....

I've had several similar "chance" encounters with race meetings, and football matches - isn't incredible how sometimes you just seem to be in the right place at the right time?  My wife doesn't believe a word of it any more - and work have twigged it too....last time it was for the Newcastle Vs. Reading game.  I very conveniently had a meeting in Newcastle that morning, and a fully expensed flight...how on earth did that happen???  Grin

Well, I have to admit that the new Portimaio curcuit is excellent from a spectator's POV - from the grandstand it's possible to see almost all of the circuit as it runs through the Portugese hills. Behind the scenes there is the most fantastic swimming pool next to the no.1 pits and the media centre.

Interestingly, the tables are starting to turn again, the best placed oil-burner was Albers' #15 in 6th. Fastest time of the day, and pole position went to the Team Oreca Matmut AIM LMP1 with a lap time of 1:31.020 with the 007 Aston a hundredth of a second behind setting a 1:31.160 lap.

Here's a few pix from qualifying yesterday, back tonight for the race.

Err .... lads, haven't you forgotten something?

Hold on, where are all the Spyker lads off to?

Ah, that explains it .....

Family enjoying the day .....
