We have to transit Paris on the final Sunday of the TDF.
We were planning to use the eastern section of the Peripherique, hitting the Perpherique between 12.30 and 1pm, coming from Charles de Gaulle then going past Orly.

Does anyone have experience of the traffic on this day? Sunday lunchtime is normally quiet, but with the TDF in town I don't know what to expect.

The Tour won't make any difference to the traffic on the Péripherique. Anyone having anything to do with the Tour will be in central Paris at that time.
Happy holidays!  Smiley

So, the peripherique will just be as bad as it ever is.

Pretty empty on a Sunday lunchtime in August. So, no it won't  "just be as bad as it ever is", but I think Barry knows that.  Wink

What? You mean it has quiet periods?

Last time I was on it, there were guys manhandling trail bikes into the central reservation and riding them (in either direction) inside the barriers.

Sundays it is normally very quiet.
Last time we went that route we got from Charles de Gaulle airport to Orly in under 25 minutes.

That's what I would love to do, but we have a non cancelable hotel booking in Clemont Ferrand that night. Otherwise we would stop in Orleans instead.
