...whats the name of the hotel on the straight between L'Arche & La Florandiere 10 paces from the circuit. I stumbled across it last year and want to make sure I find my way back this year?

Any ideas chaps???

It's Hotel Arbor, if you are on the parking lot of the hotel go to your right along the fence.
There's a marshall post approx 400 meters (in the chicane), if you are there late saturday night they often let you watch just behind the armco with no fence blocking your view.

is this viewing there any good?  i think i last went there  about 10 years ago, and found it quite restricted - didn't have the joy of being located at the armco though

I'd rather have another Tropillama!

It's many years since I've been there.   It's worth the trip but IMHO the viewing is not that good.   Personally I've never seen the attraction of standing around waiting for the people in the better positions to move off so I can have a look.

The view from the hotel parking lot is not very special indeed, we usually go there saturday night 2-3 AM.
We take a taxi to hotel Arbor (that takes care of the gendarme guarding the little road leading to the hotel) and head off to the marshall post located just before the chicane. At that time there are usually very few people around and the marshalls donot mind you watching trackside.

Normally we arrange for the taxi to pick us up after 1,5 hour or so and let him take us to Mulsanne or Arnage to watch from there too. Taxi has us back at MB usually around 5-6 AM for an hour or two of sleep.

As from last year there are two security guards with yellow jackets on each post and it is getting tough to view trackside. They were checking not only your pass but the plastic bracelet too last year. I am on the other side to the hotel in the golf club and while I have my press passes my friends had to go down to Mulsanne and watch from behind the chicken wire at the golf club car park. You might have problems this year since security has once again been tightened up.
