I cannot read the full story, but autosport.com has come with the news that Henri Pescarolo might not be able to compete at the remaining races of the LMS Championship season. According to Stranger (DfH-member) the 2007-season might be in jeopardy too! Sad

Quote from: autosport.com
Championship leaders Pescarolo Sport could be forced to abandon their Le Mans Series campaign this season due to a lack of funds, this week's Autosport reveals.

I understand he was looking for funding for the remaining season and next years LM.  I heard he also needs to build a replacement chassis / car.

No cash = no racing  Sad

He has already won this season's championship anyway. Next year is another matter, though.
Oh dear, I hope it's not true and he will have the car and the money for this and next years to come.
I swiftly talked to him at the Ring after the ceremony to congratulate him for the top podium place (and being the LMS 2006 champion, most surely). Always a gentleman, I wish him luck and money.

I'd heard rumours he might be joining Peugeot next year with their diesel effort?

Heard some rumours about that in the press too. Actually it would make sense because as far as I know Peugeout doesn't have a race team (trucks, mechanics, logistics and all that stuff) by themselves. Teaming up with Henri (like Audi does with Joest) would increase their chances.

Anyway, I think Pescarolos fund-raising for an LMP1 car with a convetional gasoline engine will be more difficult than it has already been in the past, unless the ACO really put some restrictions e.g. on the tank size and/or air intake of the diesels.

Peugeout
Nice word-play, Werner! Grin

Anyway, it all sounds rather logic if both would team up. Let's hope Peugeot will give Henri a new chance next year. The LMS-title is already in the bag, isn't it?

Henri stated on TV last Sunday post race that the rest of the season was in question so it is more than a rumour.
