Good friends

The Club Arnage server har always been on a UPS battery system for resilient power,
but now we are adding a (1MegaWatt V12 turbo-diesel) generator to make the entire
building independant of external power - including the coffeemachines (!)

The first full-scale test is scheduled to 12 july at 10:30 (WET, ie 9:30am GMT)
This will probably not have any effect on the running of the server, but now
you know, in case something slips anyway  -  who knows if the phase has been
connected the right way around, - it could be "fun" to watch a 1MegaWatt
generator hit a 700 kWatt usage backwards ... :-)

Here is a picture of the generator, while it was being lifted into place:

hmm, I've heard about power-over-ethernet, but I doubt it will work from Copenhagen to Le Mans :-)
