Dave

Can't fault your thinking.

I'm shopping for a new tent ready for next year - the local Sports Hypermarket (Dec***lon) has a sale on and had a visit this weekend but did not buy just yet while exploring the options.

My criteria is slightly different - I want to be able to stand up as I'm fed up with lying on my back, and waving my legs in the air while trying to change my trollies....!

you wanna see if high and mighty do tents.

far better than my old tent, i had the multiple flaps doors windows open with the fly nets in place and a cooling breeze was aiding my old ball sack sweat issue of years gone by.

Saying that though, i don't think it was as hot this year as many, especially last year.

But overall yes well worth the punt, especially as it was cheap. I reckon if you paid more you could do very well. Am thinking of getting an optional outback sun awning for aided shelter above the tent next year, and maybe a butler to fan me with a big leaf.

i really think it might be worthwhile getting a cheap gazeebo and putting that over the tent.

Tesco had some nice gazebos for half price, just over £8, the other day.

They were white with a red cross.

It is worth getting one that offers some form of sun protection. Our old one kindly cleaned away by the pikeys seemed to magnify the suns rays, so when you thought you where in the shade you still burnt to a crisp if you where not to careful.

OK I've got to ask - being a bit of a tent anorak, could you post a link to your new tent so that I can have a look at it?  Cheers  Grin

I've never used a tent as an anorak, but it would probably fit, if a little snug!!!
