I am going to Toronto in September to see among other things the American LeMans. Has anyone ever been and if so what can I expect.

Hi Cissie,
I take it you mean the ALMS at Mosport in September? About 1 1/2 hours from Toronto. What would you like to know? Excellent track. Camping onsite. Good views. Paddock is accesable. Bring beer and food.

I was fortunate enough to be working in Detroit a few years back (fortunate….and Detroit..…probably not the best combination of words) and had the opportunity to drive up and see ALMS at Mosport.

I did not camp as I had to get back for work the next day.

But it did come across as an excellent circuit for viewing, with real challenging corners and the natural elevations providing some tricky moments for faster cars lapping the slower ones. The track and lack of run offs reminded me of the circuits of yesteryear that are often featured in Motorsport mag.

Was able to park right next to the track and walk around the pits without any hassle.

I think this was back in 2000 / 2001 so things might be different now.

Generally really enjoyed the whole day because it was not like the 'officious' UK circuits.

I seem to recall that some of the roads in that area are quite good for a hoon…….

The only down side was the grief and vehicle search I got at Passport control…….

Mosport's one of the great, venerable old North American circuits.  Fast and challenging, it was the home of the Canadian GP (along with St. Jovite) until 1978.  One of the original Can-Am circuits, has seen all of the greats over its illustrious history.  Can't go wrong with a race weekend there.

I was worried that you'd snuffed-it and nobody told me!
Will we be seeing you at Road Atlanta in the fall, as usual?
