Just had an email from a reliable source - beware!!

Please pass this on, it might save someone some money,
           ---------------------------------------------------

For your information

If you receive a card through your door from a company call PDS (Parcel
Delivery Service) saying that they have a parcel awaiting  delivery
instructions and can you contact them on 0906 6611911

DO NOT call the number as this is a mail scam originating from Belize

If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will
already have been billed £15 for the phone call.

If you do receive a card with these details, then please contact
            Royal Mail Fraud on 02072396655
or         ICTIS at http://www.icstis.org.uk
or         your local  trading standards office.

This is a genuine scam.

ICTIS have the following information about this number.
This is a card posted through your letter box from PDS Parcel Delivery
suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and to call the premium

rate number in question. This service costs £1.50 per minute.
This service is under investigation by ICSTIS.

Please be aware of this scam and forward this information to as many as possible.

Should you receive a card from this company please follow the above instructions.

How are there cards delivered - by royal mail or by hand aka the post office parcel delivery or couriers? Normally they would be completed by hand by the delivery driver - if not, and mailed via the post office they should be able to intercept them...... or is that being over optimistic?

It's impossible to have a PRS number charge you £15 for a call in a one off hit.

Personally I'm always sceptical about this sort of message.   I take the line
Quote
and forward this information to as many as possible.
To mean  "Disgard this message is just a chain letter".

Then of course there is the common sense thing.   Who is going to send you a parcel so valuable that you have to sign for it.   You would normaly be expecting a parcel of that type and often you know how it's being sent UPS, Parcel Force, Bussiness post and so on.

You should also think about the fact it's a premium rate number.

I googled the Parcel Scam and found this ammusing page. http://www.joewein.de/sw/fraud-bidpay-get-even.htm

I like getting the "your Post Code has been picked" line from tele marketing jerks.
If it's a bloke I say well write to me and I put the phone down.
If it's a bird I say what are you wearing and they put the phone down.  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

I take this to mean that the e-mail is a genine scam not the phone line.  Wouldn't suprise me if ICTIS had something to do with this.

I only reply to e-mails from Nigeria requesting my bank details to transfer millions.  Still waiting for the millions   Huh
