some of the camera signs have changed, particularly in Cheshire, from one with borders to ones without on a yellow background

does that mean that if you get nabbed in an area using an old style sign you could get off because the sign is wrong and therefore illegal

I think the signage isn't mandatory anyway.

Although there are some on the M2 which have a sign saying they are NOT active.

THe yellow background signnifies its an area of high collisions, lots of crashes.

The CAMERA is coloured yellow for 2 reasons. 1 to show its there and be a positive road safety feature . 2. SO that 50% of the revenue can go back into Safer roads partnerships.
