Just been sent an email by my mate, the big cheese at Goodwood:
You'll recall we had a lengthy stop on the Saturday; anyone who saw Autosport will see why. Willie Green hit a bank coming into the chicane, was ejected from the car and then pinned down by same when it came back at him.
Fortunately his injuries were less serious than they could have been but after the red flag and the med car scramble Felix (clerk of the course for operations) went round to see what was going on.
I was talking to Felix at Brands yesterday (he's race director of the FIA international Thoroughbred Grand Prix series, which was one of the supports) and he told me when he got there it didn't look good; Willie was prone on the ground and not moving.
As Felix approached the scene, Willie twisted himself round, saw Felix and said "You haven't come to give me a bollocking have you?"
Who says there's no humour left in motorsport?

Willie Green is indeed a lucky chap, his injurys could have been alot more serious.
I understand that at the Spa Historic meeting last weekend 2 drivers where bady hurt, and several others had minor injurys one caused when the tow truck driver decided to go too fast, the damaged car he was towing flipped and flung the helmetless driver out and destroyed his car.

Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better.
