Tip one Arrive on D Day, every Gendarme in the country, and his dog were in Ouistreham.
Tip two  Drive a Peugeot
Tip three  Tow a caravan
and spend the dosh on booze not fines

Le Plod de Vitesse Francaise had one of these new speed guns, that looks like a pair of binoculars, on the Argentan Bypass, otherwise no sign of them

It was a bit cramped and hot though 3 up in a mates  tiny little "french" plane.

Hi

Be careful in Arnage as I was the guy who got fined for excessive acceleration. I had not even got out of first gear and got pulled.
Got a fine of 100 Euros and did'nt realise until I got home that the crafty bastard copper had given me back all the parts of the ticket including his copy. Obviously the money went in his back pocket for his hols.

Have a good one

Had a scare between rouen and calis on monday return with a little golf police car hiding behind an embankment as I was approaching 170 clicks. Someone on other side gave me a flash, but I wasn't sure if it was a heads up, but luckily, the alfa in front heeded (I was using him as a pace maker) and we were dropping speed  quite a bit as we came past them.  Cheesy

750 euro fine for driving in excess of the speed limit- forgot the limit was in kilometres! good cop bad cop routine with no sense of humour. nearly got nicked for having a fridge plugged in. copper with the attitude was convinced it was a radar detector until i pulled a cold bottle of posh out of it!!!
happy days.
