Hi

Sorry if this has already been covered.

A friend of mine, from the frozen North (Scotland !!) wants to get to LM by air. What is the nearest airport and is it feasible to get there this way, seeing as we will have to pick him up and lose valuable drinking time ?

Cheers

The Le Mans airfield is right by the western side of the circuit.

Having said that, unless he is flying down in his own Lear Jet or Cessna, there doesn't appear to be any scheduled flights to Le Mans (and definately not from the UK).

The best plan of action is to fly to Paris and get the TGV to Le Mans.  This train journey is very reliable and prompt.  Then it's just a case of collecting said frozen person from the railway station.

In that case it will be worth finding out wether to fly either Charles de Gaulle or Orly. CDG will probably have a better connection as it's a bigger airport.

Not sure about this at all, but in the back of my mind, there is something that tells me there are some charter flights going from Stansted.
I have a feeling that Airtrack have something to do with it.
Sorry if this is complete rubbish....

Bit of a long way from Scotland to Stanstead though!

I'm sure Mr Stelios or Mr Ryan can do you a cheap one though.

I was thinking, that in this modern age, there would be a flight from Scotland to Stansted, you can connect there and make your onward journey.

Scotland direct to Le Mans - unlikely I would say.

Check out Airtrack, they are showing flights from Luton and Stansted. i don't know if they are bundled up with a package, or a stand alone option.

Best of luck.
