Yes you have a good point.
There were a couple of full page ads in Autocar magazine in the preceding weeks, but I wouldn't have thought that the majority of thier readership gave a toss about sportscar racing. Can't comment on other more specialist motoring media though. (As for other 'specialist' publications well they're very interesting but have nothing to do with cars
)
In the end though there are a lot of Brits that go to La Sarthe not out of response to advertising but out of tradition and word of mouth. They are the sort of people who would know about the LMES events anyway. It was certainly a disappointment not to see more spectators.
