Author Topic: Traffic on Wednesday  (Read 3339 times)

We are arriving later than ever before on the Wednesday, and are staying for the first time on MB.

I arrive at 1300 (should be no problems) but I have to collect my brother from the station at 1500. What is the traffic like.

I have the added problem that I have to collect him in a motorhome so need to get back onto the site before 1700 to finish the set up before the first quals.

Thanks.

Sound like you may hit the traffic that builds when the roads get closed for practice which can happen quite early in the day, you would be ok getting there a 13.00 but the trip back from town could involve some diversons. this should not happen till just before the start of the Quals but I have been caught out before.

Otherwise we normally find it easy travelling between the town & track, no more traffic than you would find in an city.

You should have no problem. The most direct route from MB to the station doesn't involve any of the circuit roads.
Right out of MB, past the Heineken Bar, (keep your eyes peeled for Peugeots), carry on to Pontlieu, over the river, keep an eye out for the Gare sign funnelling you left into Emile Zola (Boulevard) and there you are. Just before and just after qualifying there will be local traffic to-ing and fro-ing, but you should be ok.
