OK I'll admit it. All BigH's references to 'Engrailing' have left me somewhat confused, but with some awful mental imagery to go to bed with
So I thought I'd do some research to find out what the hell Engrailing was, and I'm even more confused:
Firstly it something to do with being knighted:
http://www.theamazinginstitute.org/gurps/mithras/engrail.htmThen its something to do with coins:
Irish Milled Coinage (1680 - 1823) - ... The currency issues have an
engrailed edge (ie a grove cut into the edge around the coin) with oblique milling within the engrailing. ...
http://www.irishcoinage.com/MILLED.HTMThen its something to do with heraldry:
Kingdom of Atenveldt - Recent actions by the College of Arms - ... There were some concerns in the College that the
engrailing would not be identifiable due to the complex outline of the charge and the internal details. ...

If anyone has any other suggestions (factual or fictitional) I'd be most interested............Really, honest, I need closure on this one for the sake of my sanity
