Having read the many messages about Grimbergen, I decided to see if I could track some down in the UK For Christmas.

Having found a Belgium Beer website I doscovered there are bars in Cheltenham, Norwich and Grays (including Grays Athletic Football Club which is apparently the only football club bar listed by CAMRA) However as none of these are particularly convenient to get to, and more importantly if the Grimbergen is as potent as everyone says it would be even less wise to try to drive home having sampled the brew, I did a little more investigation.

I have now found a web site that delivers in the uk, http://www.beersofeurope.co.uk/acatalog/Beers_of_Europe_Grimbergen_37.html but now I need more help!!  They have five (5) different varieties of the stuff. Which one should I try ( correction......which one should I strat on!!) Prices vary from £1.45 to £1.89 per bottle. I'm assuming it's a bit cheaper on the continent??

Don't recall anyone saying it was potent JP, just noxious - stopped my fence from rotting too.

I always found myself blindly plunging my hand into a full cooler of beer and ice with a heavy heart, knowing that somewhere in there lurked several of these nasty little bastards.  To me, this stuff just doesn't compliment any other alcoholic beverage.

Kinda like sinking into a pint of Guinness with a mouthful of toothpaste.
