What a waste of post # 500 this is going to be....

Suggest he advertises in the Classifieds, or posts to Discussion, on http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/index.htm. There's a lot of people there who might just have such a thing tucked away in their shed...

Try the kit car magazines ( paper things ) They are always selling engines.

If not a large gagrgae my way sells good stuff . They are called Silverlake gargages/ salvage merchants . Maybe worth a call .

ASk yell.com for salvage experts in Portsmouth. They deliver .

Well smokie its the next one that makes you a god , thankfully

You don't win Le Mans - you outlast it.

Maybe if we take some spanners and a large rucksack with us to Haynes next time, we could "borrow" one from their Viper?

Does this "Haynes" have alink with the Haynes guides and handbooks, very useful for any serious driver ?

Wishy, if your mates REALLY desparate, I've got a P6 block with crankshaft and pistons in my garage (no heads or anything else) he can have for nothing.
I can't remember if the mains and big ends are any good.  My mate gave it to me for a (long abandoned) project when he swapped the 3.5 P6 in his cobra for a 4.8 Rover / TVR engine.  (I'm near Colchester).

Alternatively, theres RPI Engineering in Norwich http://www.v8engines.com/
or http://www.p6spares.co.uk/ or anything else Google can throw at you.

Yes, the very same.  They are the biggest motoring publisher in the world bar-none.  There is the Haynes Motor Museum (great site, one of mine Wink ) the museum has a test track for the exhibits (there are over 400 of them).
