Finally, it has arrived in Europe, the BMW M3 GTR which Rahal/Letterman enters in the American Le Mans Series.
The European programme will be run by AC Schnitzer.  In 2010 they will race the car in the German VLN-championship (several races at the Nordschleife), the Nürburgring 24h and in the Asian Le Mans Series.  I haven't read anything about an entry in the European Le Mans Series, but with the F1 project that has come to an end, there will be money available at BMW so it wouldn't surprise me if they head onto Le Mans to compete in the GT2 class in 2010.

Since, I'm a huge bmw fan (when I was at Daytona for the 24h this year I went to Sebring to see this monster at the ALMS-testday, and I have 2 ///M's in my garage (one of them is being used as aRingtoy), I couldn't resist to head onto the Ring past Saturday to take a few pictures ...

On October 17th they will race once more in the VLN, another "Ringtrip" coming up  Grin

Nice car.
Anything to break the monotony of Porsche after Ferrari after Porsche in GT2.

Having seen the Bimmers three times this year, I can vouch for them being good fun to watch.  As mentioned, they're low, fat and loud.  They've made great progress over the year, and since mid season have been giving Porsche and Ferrari all they can handle, dominating at Road America.  Would be a great addtion to the Sarthe entry.
