Sure was, although it was a bit nippy at night. No alcohol to keep warm either, the circuit isn't licensed.
I was wandering around for hours waiting for the sun to come up.

I was lucky enough to attend this event at the weekend. It was good fun; not many spectators but some top entries. Good spectating opportunities and a nice circuit. Thought the guys and gals at CA would be interested. Here are some pics:

We survived the great ice storm. It was incredible.

Will never forget the last 15 minutes of the race.

Yep, pistenklause is all booked up. There are 7 of us so couldn't risk it.

Thanks for the info about the buses Dottore. This will be spot on for us.

Yeah, someone else mentioned the shuttle bus. I didn't know it existed! Are there huge queues like at Le Mans? I'd only want to use it on Friday (presumable quiet then) and Sat morning (maybe starting to get busy).

Is the motorsport hotel in the new complex next to the GP circuit? I don't know if that was even finished the last time I was there in 2009. Is it worth visiting?

I'm off to the N24 tomorrow. I have a blog going that I intend to update while I am there to document the event from the fans perspective. Seeing as this fits with the Club Arnage interests, thought I would post here and invite anyone to follow it over the coming weekend.

Hopefully it will make some of you jealous enough to attend next year. Its awesome  Grin

Thanks Jason, Lorry. I really need the word document if possible. I can't remember if I ever emailed that to Werner or if I always pdf'd it first.

I'm having difficulty finding the original version. I might need to start from scratch but I think I could recreate it. I'll get something done by end of April.

The ACO map is here: http://ticket.lemans.org/Files/ACO-plan-accueil-2016.pdf
Is it up to date?
What is "Chateau du Houx Club" and "Houx Annexe Club". They are the same rate as Houx and Houx Annexe so what is the difference?
What about viewing to the outside of the first Porsche Curve? Has that gone?

Werner and all. I have been away from Club Arnage for a loooooong time. My old website (racetours.co.uk) is no longer hosted but I think I may be able to find the original version of the map. It was created in MS Word! Would you guys be interested in an updated version of the map or were you looking to start again from scratch?

Can we see the results Dottore? Smiley

I made it to Hotel Arbor on Wed evening. Didn't even have to pay the 10 euros since they hadn't set up the little tent where you have to pay. Posted the pictures in another thread, here they are again. Best bit is at the entry to the chicane. The catch fencing ends and with a bit of effort you can get high enough to shoot over the armco.

In the past few years you could pay 10 Euros to park at hotel arbor and that included a pint from their bar.

The viewing was pretty good. There is catch fencing there though.

At the Classic in '08 the kind marshalls let me go the other side of the fence and sit behind the concrete wall. Much better for photos!

The hotel has changed hands now I think. I am hoping to go there this year so was planning on emailing them to ask if the area is still accesible. http://www.auberge-mulsanne.fr/

Flying Lizard for GT2 honours?
I would love it, but with the 2 GT2 'Vettes I somehow doubt it now.

The Lizards squad have matched and beaten the Vettes in ALMS. They just need to stay out of trouble! The GT2 category has to be the hardest to call though. IMSA, Rizi, Lizards, Corvette, BMW!
