There was a Jeep with a roof tent near us. It didn't look comfortable or safe. Nearby, another 4x4 was reversed into an Eazy-up, which looked far more civilised. I'll stick to the caravan thank you

Now that they put a barrier up in front of the steps, its quite quick to get into the grandstands. I went in about an hour before, and the tunnel and road behind the grandstands were about as clear as you'll get. Better than pre covid.
The other surprise was Dunlop and Ford during practice. It looked heaving but you could find half a dozen seats.

I'm assuming Eurosport are still broadcasting LM - they're owned by Discovery/Warner Bros.
I'm told that a UK TV, with HD (or a French set-top box) should get French TV - any views?
I'm more worried about the practice. The free German satellite Eurosport showed Tennis last year. Will they or L'Equipe show the practice?

Team LeMansZone (11 people) will be on Houx for the first time ever this year, hippodrome last year was just too much of a hike to the track.
You lucky b@st@rds. We've been try to get into Houx Proper since they blew up Maison Blanche. And yes, these campsites are too much of a hike

350milion quid a week for the nhs is positive.
Sadly, we never saw it as Furlough and other support is costing about 5 times that, so we're still skint, but if you can throw that sort of dosh at the unemployed, you'd have thought some could go to the nurses

......Tribune 05 is funny - listed on the Map as Dunlop (Correct!) - But on the ticket list it is Goodyear! ......
I was recently surprised to find that Dunlop, that wonderful British company, is no longer owned entirely by the Japanese, but also by Goodyear and the tyres are now made in the midlands of Slovenia. Their tyre doctor, a Brummie of course, is a class act. Answer: Goodyear are paying the bill

The papers think that next week France will start allowing Brits in, subject to both jabs and a test. I suspect we are moved up their traffic light.
Looking at the way the number of positive tests is increasing over here, this is a brave move

McLaren have a big announcement on Sunday. It may just be a new sponsor, but there's a risk its LMDh, or both.
They're running the cars in Gulf colours at the Monaco GP. Sadly, Gulf must be the new sponsor. I don't think they ever ran in those colours in F1, only in the later Davidoff GTF1s, and the did have some Gulf stickers on the orange Can-Am cars 50 years ago

Having watched some of the race, Toyota and Alpine had got rid of enough of their sandbags. The bit I don't understand, is that they've restricted the LMP2s more, but the LMP1s, sorry Hypercars, are only just quicker - slower in the corners, but faster on the long straights, bit like a GT1, if you remember those

There seems to be only one "precise rule" at Le Mans - they don't have any precise rules I have it on good authority that the French have two types of rules - ones you have to obey precisely, and those you can ignore. This is done to confuse the British. We gave up with fires about 20 years ago, as its either too warm or raining. I don't think you'll have problems with a chimnea, provided you're not nicking pallets to burn and cutting them up with a chainsaw , its not too close to tents, and securitie aren't in a bad mood.
