1  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:Buying tyres in france on: August 10, 2004, 04:38:54 pm
Hi all !

How could tyres be more expensive in England than in France Huh  Shocked  Grin

I know a very good website selling tyres online :

http://www.mytyres.co.uk/

This is the UK part of a European website selling tyres at very low price... I've already ordered Bridgestone SO2 and SO3 for my 911, the price for 4 tyres is almost 250 euros less than in any tyre shop in France...

Hope you'll find what you need !  Smiley

nice ring Wink

Sorry, you're all very cool guys but I'm already married...  Sad
And do you know what my husband told me last night, as I was telling him about all of you ? He said you imagine me as a perfect girl coz you've never seen me when I'm with him in the garage, working on the 911, and 2 hours later I tell him I want to go back home to sleep, as he could stay there all night long Wink
Well, actually, he's right, I prefer to sit in the car, fasten my harness, and drive for hours, than to spend 2 or 3 nights in the garage, working on boring mechanical stuff  Cheesy

On the camping front Silverstone dont run camping but there is camping avalible. The Silverstone hand book only has Whittlebury Golf & Country Park in it. But you can usualy camp across from the main gates. If any one whants to know I will enquire.

Need any idea for your tee shirts ?
That's a picture from the last week end with my friends and I, and our friend, which is also a great pilot, Stephane Daoudi (modena JMB Racing) in the middle of the picture  Wink

We all had a tee shirt with our nicknames  Cheesy

your car should go up fine on the ferry,
A couple of Bike engined kit cars didn't fair so well - one cracked it's sump on the way over leaving its trail up the slipway.

oh sh*t !!!  Undecided
how many inches from the ground was the kit car ? remember ?

critchetti : I guess you're coming this year ?  Cool

Hi Perdu ! I wasn't at le tertre rouge for the start... I was in the Porsche corner, I saw the 2 Audis go straight into the tyres, and a Porsche and a Ferrari following them a few seconds after...
I spent a moment at le tertre rouge during the night and also on sunday morning... Smiley

next year, you can be sure I'll come and say hello  Wink

Hi guys !

I'm a newbie here, I'm from Paris, I've been reading that forum for a few month but it's my first time posting here ! Smiley

I'll introduce myself briefly : I'm a 27 yrs old girl, I love endurance races (especially Le Mans), I hate Formula one, I have a go-kart and used to race in local competitions during 2 years but I had to stop because of money Sad I also have an old 911, it used to be an SC at the beginning, but now transformed as a 3.0 RS replica (had to work more than 2 years on it). I go on track with it, and I also drive it during historical meetings.
I like old english cars, many friends of mine have ones (MGs, Austin Healeys, Triumphs, Lotus, Jaguars, TVRs, etc...) and I'm very impressed when I see all of you guys from England having so many beautiful cars, perfectly restored, with powerful engines... Your country is a dream for car lovers ! Smiley

I hope we'll meet one day at Le Mans or somewhere in England (I've planned to go to Silverstone next August...)

13  Club Arnage / General Discussion / LMES at Silverstone - August 2004 on: June 15, 2004, 06:43:23 pm
Hi there ! Smiley

I'm a newbie in club arnage, I'm a french girl, just coming back from Le Mans (great race, except for the pescarolo #17, too bad they couldn't finish Sad I love that team ! )

Well, I need to ask you some questions about Silverstone, I'm gonna go there for the first time in my life next august for the LMES race !

1st : is it possible to buy tickets for camping and all stuff at the last moment ? or do I have to book everything in advance ? is there any website that gives some information about ticket price, camping, ... ? (like lemans.org)

2nd : how much do you usually pay for the ferry when you come in France ? what company do you travel with ? Is there any problem to take the ferry with sportscars ? I have an old 911 RS 3.0 1974 replica, which is very low (the front spoiler is about 5 inches from the ground) and I'm afraid it could be impossible to come on board with it...

3rd and last question : will some of you come to Silverstone this year for the LMES ? I'd be pleased to meet you there !
And do you think many people will come ? Because for the first race at Monza, there were really not enough people !!!  Sad

thanx for all !
