Club Arnage / Help / On our bikes...

Dear all,
Last minute as ever!!!
When I was watching my beloved Lotus Elise driving off down the road with it's new owner it suddenly occured to me that I no longer had transport to get me to Le Mans... Hmm. So the solution is to take the bike (bicycle that is...) on a tour from Somerset to Le Mans. I have convinced a friend to join me as company (and to carry half the kit heh heh - but he won't mind as he's a Le Mans virgin so will get carried away with the excitement!).
Anyway, I was wondering if there was any advice about camping and bike security. Due to commitments of work we will be arriving on the Saturday and leaving on the Sunday, any suggestions about the best place to pitch the tents for a couple of hours sleep on Saturday night (we don't have a camping pass) - IIRC you used to be able to pitch in parking vert for a small fee as long as you took the tent down every day. Anybody know if that's still the case? Or is it considered unethical to pitch a tent in one of the non marked out sites in a corner somewhere - since we don't have a car to put a pass onto?
We would also like to be able to leave the bikes somewhere at least reasonably safe & possibly locked to something - any advice?
I am pretty resigned to just winging it (as I usually do), but if anybody has helpful tips I'd be grateful
Thanks!

Skoff,
I had a Saphire Cossie in 1990, great car and went like stink, trouble was bits kept falling off it.
Jem
Yeah great fun, but as you say bits would drop off them all the time, I went through 1 engine, 2 gearboxes, 2 AP racing clutches, a driveshaft, a fuel tank , and it seemed everything would cost multiples of £500... Heady (if expensive) days!!! Nice to meet a fellow Cossie fan!

Here's my lot - Open Manta 1.9SR Opel Manta GTE (Stolen, but recovered - never felt the same) Vauxhall Astra GTE (Stolen and burnt out by joy riders) Reliant Scimitar SS1 1600 Ford Sapphire Cosworth 2WD Ford Sapphire Cosworth 2WD tweaked to about 330bhp Ford Sapphire Cosworth 4WD tweaked to about 480bhp (stolen - god I miss that car!) Renaut 19 16v (to drive whilst the above Cosworth was in the garage, which was very often!) Mitsubishi EVO 6 (great car but a bit clinical in getting the job done) Lotus Elise S1 (Current car bought as an antidote to the Evo, and in a (vain) attempt to keep the license clean) VW Polo 998cc - 'The Beast' (The wife's cast-off, now she has a Civic Sport. For use when it's really raining and when I need to carry more than a toothbrush) Looking for a change in the not too distant future, but can't for the life of me think what to try next. Seriously tempted to buy a trevor but not sure i can live with poor reliability and big bills (been down that road before with the tuned Cosworths)...

Hi everybody... Do any of you have any good pictures from this year? For various complicated reasons I didn't take the digi camera )and was probably too drunk to use it anyway ) and I would like a nice pic to go on my desktop... Thanks!!! How many days left till next year..?
