Club Arnage / Help / Re:2006 Race Dates

I think the 3rd weekend in the month is correct. THey moved it this year due to the US & Japaneese teams not having to do two seperate trips between testing and the race. THis of course had to fit in with the ALMS & Le Mans Endurance series as well.
I think the 3rd weekend will be the one

Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:GT1 mixing it with LMP2?

The LMP2 and variants before hand have ended up finishing behind the top GT cars anyway.
I still think the Top Ferraris/Chevy/Astons will do that again.
Yeah I agree with all of you, I think a GT1 car has a great chance for a top 5 and the added factor that with no real 'factory' effort in the LMP1 maybe relaibility could be a problem for some of the top cars.

I thought the Panoz Elan wasn't going to race again, or is it the new one??
I suppose in someways this is abetter system as the teams that suceed in Le Mans/Alms/Euro Le Mans series get recognised.
And in regards to White Lightning Racing. I believe they are putting on a gig like Audi did with Jamiroquai two years ago. Apparently it's going to be The Wurzels!!

just a side issue Mr Zarse Esq, in regards to the picture next to your name, I work for the company that makes Izal toilet tissue and can get it cheap if you want it!! (yes they still make it!! god knows who buys it)
To be serious for once..If the ACO were interested in stamping out ticket touting then they could persue these people but I agree that the problem is quite small and for the people buying these inflated price tickets? well.. its their money. There are many people who find they cant go a few months before the race, due to unforseen commitments when they got the tickets months ago, so there are some around (i.e on here) without going onto E-Bay.
Right Seriousness over, its Friday and its real ale time!

For Sale
Karting Nord ticket. Karting Nord is situated just outside of the Chevrolet pit in the village giving easy access to their cars if you need to have a trip to Carrefour to buy some Onions. Quite often Johnny Herbert pops in to play the Banjo in the centre of the campsite and sometimes Ron Fellows does break dancing classes.
At night the cars will slow down a bit so they are not so noisy as they go pass as they know that a good nights sleep for you is more important than winning the 24 hours. The walk from Karting Nord to Indianapolis Corner takes 2 mins buy the complimentary pogo stick/space hopper depending on stock availabilitiy) from the ACO.
Be warned these tickets sell out fast, my 2009 tickets have just come through! You may want to purchase Grandstand tickets as Des Lynham and Gary Linneker are quite elusive to track down otherwise.
I am starting bids at 4million Oman Rials (Rial the currency not old F1 team!)
also for sale Barry Manilow signed Door panel from his old Rover 800 Vitesse £20
Home Grown Carrots that look a bit like Perry McCarthy (from a distance and after 10 pints of real ale) £5 plus £2 P&P
Buyer to collect.

We manage to get down to LeMans in a MGBGT with all the gear. THe MGB GT makes the Golf R32 look as roomy as a bus! so space is a premium. We have tried the bucket technique, but if you havent go much shade it can be ineffective.
What we have done for this year is to make a box out of 3 ply and inside attach the material they use for insulation for Fridges (No.. not asbestos!!). The door can be sealled with wignut screws to keep it airtight. Then that can be put in the MG and filled with gear, then once in LeMans buy some Ice from the Supermarket, put your food and beer in it and it will keep cold for ages!!.

Totally agree with that one Ron Jeremy. There needs to be a restriction on foreign players in the Prem so tallent can grow and be moulded in to players capapble of doing it in internationals. Look at David Bentley at Arse. Started to show tallent and class but has no hope of getting in above the more experianced players above him. At least he will get a shot at showing what he is made of on loan.
Robert Green will be the England number 1 for World Cup 2006. Would of been in Euro 2004 Squad if it hadn't been for a required fix on an ankle problem. Consistant keeper who will shine in the Prem this year.

I would be suprised if the whole of Houx Annex was built on. After the 2002 race the rumour was that it was going to be built on but the actual result was that big Dome building near the front of the Mulsanne Straight. Any building would probably only take away a small part of the site, otherwise where are all the people who camp there going to go??
ACO are not going to give up the revenues gained from all the people camping on Houx Annex (camp site tickets & race entry tickets). Another rumour from a few years back was that there would be a camp site near the viewing part of the Porshce Curves...this turned out to be Beujoaus site but would they extend that to the outside of the Porsche Curves?? That would ensure that to get to view from there you would have to get a race ticket.

I does not matter where you camp, you will always have to put up with antics of your neighbours, it is just the fact of camping at Le Mans.
I can think instances spring to mind such as the Kareoke that went on very late on the Wednesday night (not appriciated after the long drive) but instead of arguing with them, I laughed along with them. The spirit of the camp sites is totally different to anything else. Yes Laddishness fuelled by Alcohol will create moments of stupidity but after a few years you just learn to step back and say "This would only happen in Le Mans"
