2  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: CA Guide. A vote of thanks on: June 07, 2007, 03:01:41 pm
Have just had a quick scan through & am astonished at the quality of both content & design, the girls & guys of CA have excelled once again!! Many thanks to all involved, I know it helps my sanity from having to answer so many questions by new members of our team!!

As a side note, a mate of mine is after the 2006 guide (have no idea why) does anyone still have it hosted online?? Sorted, thanks Neal!!

See you all at the poo bar!!
3  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Peugeot 908 Livery on: March 06, 2007, 05:12:09 pm
So here's what the car's going to look like for the year, a bit too black for my liking, is it so the drivers are able to stop at the correct fuel pump (& not fill up with silicon)  Roll Eyes

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/57079

Will be nice to see a coupe back at Le Sarthe, even if it is a quiet one...

BTW Are any of the S**ringers able/willing to hang about to watch the 908's pound the track the following day or is it a private session??

Well the latest rumours I saw on Teletext last night said that Ferrari F1 test driver Marc Gene was going to be confirmed sometime soon, with talk of Pedro de la Rosa & Carlos Sainz as well, found a link:

http://tinyurl.com/yj72h6

Maybe an entirely Spanish (driven) car to go with the inevitable French (driven) car in June?? Plus it would be nice to see some new faces have a go at real racing (Sainz is excluded from this, obviously...) Smiley
5  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Clay Regazzoni: 1939-2006 RIP on: December 15, 2006, 06:15:09 pm
Clay Regazzoni left us today after a collision in a road car in Italy.

Deepest condolances go out to family & friends, 67 is still far too young Cry

If you don't come back and defend the honour of MB it will be empty when you get there in June as they will all defect to HA Grin

I hope not Bob!! There's only so much green & pleasent land in HA, the last thing we want is half of MB turning up & leaving us all too close to the dusty roads!! Wink

Have been away for a while, shocked to see what's been going on around here, spammers, Fax leaving (& returning) & now Peter off too!! What's getting into this place??

I do hope he sees sense & returns, if not at least turn up at the poo bar one Saturday in June!!

http://site.voila.fr/fdlm2/divers/lemans01.jpg

this shows the position of the new football ground.

This would explain why they have started to demolish the houses alongside the road.

Nordic, that is a pretty handy picture you've got, gives us a great arial shot of the area that's gonna be developed on.

Now all we need is to know whereabouts the tram stop is going to be & if it's going to encroach on the 2 fields commonly known as Houx Annexe!! Smiley
9  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: HOUX ROUNDABOUT FRIDAY on: June 24, 2006, 06:32:44 pm
it would seem that Houx annexe does have a larger contingent of yobs than other sites for whatever reason

I'd like to add that it must be remembered that Houx Annexe also contains a number of higher class of alcohol drinkers Cheesy

A little bit of fun at Le Mans is expected but from what I'm reading here some went way too far on Friday night. Egging on drivers capable of showing off their wheels is one thing, throwing buckets of water into cars is another entirely.

Sadly once things like this begin it's pretty hard to put a stop to it. The last couple of years I recall the gendarmes turning up around 9-10ish to put a stop to it, I fear heavier policing would just mean no mad friday at all.

That said I've a plan for Friday next year already!! In the shopping center we used I found a couple of flyers for some local discotheque's This year there was a foam party, next year I'm hoping for the bunny girls that they sometimes have  Kiss Wink

I'll refrain from posting the website address for now, we'll keep this one to ourselves eh??
10  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Disgusting Mess on: June 24, 2006, 12:03:20 pm
Yes Yes Yes for f**cks sake Yes

Nice one Bob didn't see that one coming!! If only I had time to actually read all the posts when they go up on here I'd have added my tuppence worth!!

Still we'll leave the wind ups alone for now eh?? Wink
11  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Speeding in France on: June 23, 2006, 06:27:40 pm
I got flashed a few times too, nothing to do with speed cameras tho!   Cool

Fran...shuush!! What happens at the 'poo bar stay's at the 'poo bar Roll Eyes

We had another successful trip, well no speeding tickets anyway!! You've got to watch out for signs for the fixed cameras & keep an eye out for oncoming vehicles flashing you & don't go too crazy with the speed
12  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Houx Annexe on: June 23, 2006, 06:19:55 pm
Anyone know what HA is used for the rest of the year?

I'm not exactly sure but I'd take a semi-educated guess it's just a field they use for parking at other national race meets (there's plenty of field space used around most UK circuits) When we got there there were beer lids implanted in the ground possibly from the Moto GP or 24 hour Moto race??

I heard a rumour that somebody died after Friday's accident so it may be that the roundabout festivities will be policed out of existence next year.

Does anyone know what happened to the poor souls who had the accident on Sunday night in the replica Porsche at the bottom of HA?? I didn't see an accident on Friday, but then again I did have rather a lot to drink.... Grin
13  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Back home... on: June 20, 2006, 03:53:11 am
Back safe & sound, another excellent year, surely it can't be another 360~ days until next year??

I feel a longer post tomorrow when I've sobered up & remember the names of at least some of the people I got chatting to at the poo bar!! Grin
14  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: DFH on: June 20, 2006, 03:43:08 am
It started off for Roy, Marius and me driven up and down from our campsite for a flash-visit to the RfH-pitbox with VIP treatment. We saw Stefan, Alex and Jan and handed Jan 'his' shirt (Click for photo bottom left).

You know what the best thing is guys?? After the race myself & a buddy always wander round the paddock for an hour or two. Guess what t-shirt Jan changed into after the race?? Yup you guessed it, the exact same one you gave him!! Shocked

He was tucking into some food in the RfH hospitality, we left him to it but I did think the top looked unlike any of the rest of the team!!
15  Club Arnage / 2007 and earlier / Re: The 2006 I got tickets from someone on here and want to say thank you on: June 20, 2006, 02:46:34 am
Yup I'll second that!!

Thanks for the excellent tickets (& your patience!! Smiley ) if there's any tickets available next year I'll have some again Wink
