I think this also clashes with the Canadian GP (subject to Tabacco sponsorship agreement) Footy kicks off at 19.45 (French time?) and the GP usually starts at 19.00 French time. We've often watched the GP in a bar in Le Mans - next year - dilemma. (Two satellite dishes?)
2  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:New Portsmouth to Caen Fast Ferry on: December 04, 2003, 12:00:09 pm
Arrival and departure times are not clever though. There are only two daily crossings, 06.45 (what time would you have to get up) arriving 11.10 or 15.20 arriving at 19.45 - by the time you've driven to the camp site you've missed out on significant drinking time and you'll be putting up the tent in the dark. When you wake up next morning you'll find you've put the tent in the puddle accumlating behind the bog block and 45 Danes have pitched their tents around your car. Factor in the previously mentioned vomit and the £284 return ticket price and I shall be spending my money with the Tunnelers.

I'll be there Friday 'entertaining' clients (not sure whether to do the juggling or the monologues)

Not been before but it sounds like fun assuming it doesn't precipitate heavily..........

Gilles,

Where would you recommend in Arnage? We usually only do omlettes but it would be good to branch out.......

I like the sound of the Daiwa Spectron Roach pole - 16m long(!) and weighs only 1.3 kg.

Only problem - retail price £1999.00.............

7  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:French supermarketry on: May 12, 2003, 05:06:04 pm
As I recall it is a fairly new Super U with reasonable parking room and more on the local side streets.

The main supermarche used to be right in the middle of Arnage across from the two most popular cafe's - parking was a bit of a nightmare - it's a bank now I think.

It looks like we'll be in the Griffith not the Alfa this year.
Hmm - Blackpool reliablity or Milan reliability - tough call.
We're on Bleu.

See you there.

My favourite recollection was The year that Panoz had Noel Edmonds along for the ride and Jeremy Clarkson was interviewed, once he was assured that the usual BBC guidelines were not applicable.......

About 40 yards as I recall.
12  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:Radio Le Mans on: April 30, 2003, 12:17:49 pm
Read this on another site:

"I emailed Radio Le Mans directly to ask for their comment and received this reply back from a gentleman called Martin Nott:

We will be there. "

That was April 10th - so I think we're safe.

I remember life before RLM - wouldn't want to go back to that.... Wink
13  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:PORTSMOUTH EXPRESS on: April 30, 2003, 12:13:28 pm
Fast show reference - or should it have read moistly?
14  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:PORTSMOUTH EXPRESS on: April 29, 2003, 12:57:04 pm
That reads just like an advert for Eurotunnel.......

I shall be mostly crossing on a train.
