Cheers sir!

Better get a long hose then - we've got a 12 foot paddling pool to fill.......

Hello everyone - been absent for ages due to work and the rest of things.

Alas, due to lack of getting things sorted we are in BSJ this year, but at least we'll have a decent motorhome this time around.

Had a search of this site and had a look at the photos. Does anyone know if there are any available water standpipes in BSJ?

Our advance party (me included) will be arriving Monday afternoon. Please feel free to pop in for a cold one.

Thanks Darren - did a search but most people did comparisons, so I asked the questions.

I take it tickets are like rocking horse manure?
4  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Next Year - Houx???? on: August 16, 2004, 11:28:09 am
I know it's early, but as my lot were so disorganised this year, we thought we'd sort ourselves sorted this year.

For the past few years we've been at Maison Blanche, but fancy a change. We were thinking Houx?

Any thoughts?

Also I understand that Houx has electrical hook-ups. Is this true? Are there lots of them or just a few which necessitate running 100 metre leads (a la Maison Blance) to get power. Also, are there standpipes to fill for the obligatory paddling pool?

Cheers.

We are planning to do the exact same thing - gene (1kw) plus a small freezer - run during day to cool beers / freeze freezer blocks to put in cool bag. Freezer blocks keep everything cool at night.

As for lights, yep that works, although so as not to be too anti-social to our neighbours we run 80Ah leisure battery for some decent 12v lights at night, which is then charged by the gene during the day.  We've messed around with solar panels and the like,  but nothing really beats the flexibility of the gene.

Kettle, not really a goer. Even the lowest power ones are about 800w or so. The average domestic is 2-3 kw. Back to the camping stove for that one!

I managed to blag free ice from carrefour 3 times last year - I suppose it helps if you can speak the lingo.

IMHO 12v cool boxes are crap - they can't keep up with the heat - we took two last year and they both completely failed to produce anything resembling cool beer - we resorted to the "paddling pool" method.

yep, is small - 50cm by 50cm - but will hold quite a few cans.....(assuming we can get it in the 911 passenger footwell)
