And not only do friends lose the bit of discount but we also lose the £10.00 from each booking, but heyho. It's still worth being a member but only just if you only use them once, but as a large supermarket chain says, every little helps! We try and use them at least a couple of times a year, so with the crossing and onboard food discount it becomes much more worth the annual fee.
Break even is once a year for us, but if you left and rejoined at a future point you would have to pay the joining fee again. I haven't read all the T&C's, but I think there might be slight differences in the benefits for new members compared to long term members.

Pierre Fillon, hang you head in shame
He ought to be ashamed! I'm another who will not be returning in 2025 after 22 years attending. Huge price rises, to crowded and it's lost it's magic IMHO.

Hardly an unused area, it was the Tertre Rouge campsite!
Closing yet another campsite close to the circuit! You really get the feeling that the race fans who have supported the race for decades really aren't welcome anymore, unless you have deep pockets!

Club Arnage / General Discussion / Personal phone call from the ACO!

Had a guy allegedly from the ACO phone me up a couple of weeks ago from a french number reminding me that my membership was expiring shortly and would I like help to renew it. Never happened before! Either a scammer who has got hold of ACO information, or they have noticed a reduction in renewals. Told him I wasn't renewing and gave him a list of reasons why I would not be attending in 2025 after 22 years support of the race.

Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Le Mans Grandstand Seating

T17 ACO is the one to go for. Bar, food, toilets and TV screens located in it. Big screen right opposite You can reach theses facilities from T18, also ACO members only. The issue with T18 is that it is an older stand which has pillars to support the roof. If you get given a seat next to one of these the apart from a viewing issue its a bit cramped. On both always try and get at least 8 rows up, protected from rain blowing in and if security not very good, view blocked by numpties with no tickets who have blagged their way in.

My 21st Le Mans will, I think, probably be my last. Camping getting a bit challenging due to age and mobility problems. Hated the weather this year, especially the 5 days of 6 degrees overnight temperatures from the Friday before Test. And the rain later in the week. I had no issues getting the tickets I wanted, but just found everywhere to crowded. Found the race tricky to follow now there is so much competition in all the classes, much easier to do so watching on TV.
The best bit for me was meeting up with old friends prior to race day. Perhaps Smokie was the trailblazer, go down for the social and leave before the race starts and watch it on TV.

Thanks so much, I'll try to navigate my way through that now.
Rob, if you happen to spot some and there are more than you need, I need 2, 1 at a pinch, get them. Money would be with you very quick. But I would have a slight query if there was an big mark up from face value, I would have to check with my friends on how far they would be prepared to go. So I could reciprocate if I find more than I need, how many do you need?
