A fantastic race (well after the first 10 laps) but having seen the difference in pace between Mansell and some of the known 'current' sports car drivers surely someone should be trying to get him behind the wheel of an LMP next June Roll Eyes

Just an idea.....

3  Club Arnage / Help / Welcome Area on: October 06, 2005, 01:19:06 pm

Another question, this one may be a little harder to answer! We have paid extra every year for access to the Welcome area. The old roof top giving superb views of the pits and start/finish straight. Can anyone tell me if this building is part of the 'improvements' being made for next year? is it being taken down and if so do we know if the replacement will be some mega expensive corporate affair or can us mere mortals still gain access?

Thanks again....

Fran you're more than welcome anytime but you may have to share the pool with 26 blokes!! you've been warned.... Grin

Thanks for the feed back all, sounds like I don't need to be too p****d off about not getting Houx then and I've always heard about the Friday burn outs but never seen them so maybe a whole new Le Mans experience!

Couple more questions though, Is it far from the campsite to the old village/welcome area? and we usually take a big pool, are there stand pipes on the site to fill it up from?

(for someone who's been going for so many years I still seem to know so little!!)
6  Club Arnage / Help / Camping Bleu on: October 05, 2005, 10:31:02 am

Morning all,

Next year will be my 11th at Le Mans which probably still makes me a newbie to some of you seasoned veterans. I have always been on Houx or Houx Annex, unfortunately for next year we have already been told both of these sites are already sold out and so we have been alocated space in Camping Bleu. I believe this site is the one next to the main entrance but can anyone tell me what it's like? We love the party atmosphere of Houx Annex and the convenience of the bar/cafe and closeness to the village of Houx. How does Bleu compare?

thanks in advance.
7  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:GT1 mixing it with LMP2? on: June 10, 2005, 10:18:04 am
Well the Italian Luchini team have withdrawn their LMP2 car from the race so that's one less for the Aston's to get past!

Only 49 cars on the grid now Huh

Update on the above.......... apparently only one car left on the reserve list, the Squadron Spyker. All other reserves have withdrawn. Also the Acemco Saleen is supposed to have withdrawn from GT1

Great shame..................

Report on DSC this morning suggesting some "Significant" changes to the entry list are due to be released this week.......possibly in the next day or so  Huh
11  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re:Entry List on: April 20, 2005, 04:15:53 pm

Agreed it all seems very strange but there is quite a lively thread on another forum suggesting it could be as many as 15 teams !

I think this is probably just forum babble but rumours start from somewhere so sounds like we could see a few more changes yet.......... love to see RfH get the second car in. My question was more, if there is any truth to thr rumour, and suddenly all the reserves are in, do the ACO need to draw up a second set of reserves or do they start the race without a full grid?
12  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Entry List on: April 20, 2005, 02:30:58 pm

Hi All

First post here for about a year so firstly sorry to interupt all you regulars and your usual banter !

Looking for some inside gossip if anyone knows. there seem to be a lot of rumours of teams not paying the ACO the entry fee and the reserve list being eaten up pretty quickly!

I know the Nasmax is the only official one at the moment but with rumours of up to 10 pressumably all the reserves may get in, possibly even need to invite a couple of others? LNT TVR or factory Zytek??

Anyone in the know heard these rumours?

Thanks
13  Club Arnage / Help / Stupid Question on: June 10, 2004, 11:42:08 am

This will be my 8th pilgrimage to the worlds best race, on the ferry tonight with 20 of my closest personal friends..........well sort of.

Last night, my wife, who has never shown the remotest interest in motor racing truned to me and asked " So how fast are these cars then? whats the 0-60 time?"............. Having picked myself up off the floor and stared at her for a few seconds I realised........to my eternal shame, that I didn't really know! obviously I bluffed it  rather than show my ignorance but could somebody give me a rough idea . What does a top ranking LMP1,LMP2,GTS, and GT car do top end and 0-60?

Eating humble pie as we speak !

Thansk

You'd think I'd know this having been for the last 10 years but now that Sebring is over ( Well Done Audi UK !) how long do we usually have to wait for the Le mans entry list to be finalised?
