1  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: An open letter to the miserable bugger opposite. on: June 21, 2017, 11:19:24 pm
Our apologies to all after the bar politely reminded they had homes to go to around midnight on Wednesday night...

...as we then went back the campsite and continued 'talking' for some hours more.

I blame the late departure on Tuesday and subsequent late arrival on Wednesday morning of the ferry throwing our body clocks out...or our French hosts at the bar.  Not sure which.  Anyway, sorry, and if it makes it any better - we felt really sorry on Thursday morning.

Well, some of you felt sorry on Thursday  Roll Eyes Grin

Fantastic pictures, just love the one of the Aston.

A question though, what are the terms of use of these pictures? Is it acceptable to download them purely for personal use?

Just received the following from Brittany Ferries;

We are sorry to advise that due to a general strike in France, the port workers in Caen are taking industrial action. As a result, your sailing on Tuesday 14 June will be delayed and will now depart Portsmouth at 00h30, arriving into Caen at 08h00. Latest check-in 23h45. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Based on the ability to get beer on that particular crossing the last few years probably best to take your own anyway.

Run her down the motorway in 3rd gear for 10 minutes, that will blow out more carbon  Grin

the good old Italian tune up is always worth a try.

Also always use a good quality fuel. All fuels come from the same place, but they really do add more additives to the premium grades.
9  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Dash Cam on: January 24, 2016, 11:49:35 am
Unfortunately, almost a necessity in today's world. I got hit a couple of years ago and the driver failed to stop. Fortunately it was only minor but the dash cam caught the incident showing the van that did in full company livery. One mention of I have the video evidence and everyone falls over themselves to sort the matter out.

I have also seen another incident of a driver claiming that the car following had run into the back of them. The dash cam footage clearly showed that he had been stationary and never touched the car in front. Once she knew she was on video she became very abusive, got in her car and drove. The driver then handed this footage over to the police, where after a little investigation it was discovered she was involved in a cash for crash scam.

Should we have these then the answer is no. However, some of the low life in today's society mean we have  no choice but to have them, and I've had mine for three years. Also the police actively encourage users to now provide dash cam footage of poor driving/incidents.
10  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Great Le Mans Week on: June 17, 2015, 11:29:14 pm
Another great week at Le Mans.

Camping on BN with Elanman and MGMark, always good to catch up with everyone.
The race was superb with some great competition within the different classes, although once again had to feel for the Aston Martin team. Just when will they win again?

Disappointed to see the banking had disappeared at MB, and really strange to walk through what was once a very busy campsite. I guess it is called progress.

Attended my first Brethren party which was a different approach to a Friday night and my son even got through the the chilli challenge. Very enjoyable and thanks to all the guys for putting it together.

So roll on next year, which according to RLM last Thursday as they were reporting on the ACO announcements they claimed that the test day would be the 5th of June with the race to follow two weeks later.

So just need to get the ferry booked as the first stage in the preparations.

As said, it was a publicity stunt for the WEC/Silverstone round. Early on there were a few drivers around to sign autographs including Anthony Davidson. Fortunately for me I had to be in the London office which was only four stops away on the tube so was able to pop down at lunchtime.

Glad Stu has got his passport and will soon be on his way Smiley
15  Club Arnage / Just To Say Hi / Hello all on: May 12, 2014, 09:16:13 pm
Ok, first post on CA.

What is it they say, owning up is your first step to recovery? Well I will own up and say this will be my fifth year to Le Mans but I hope I never recover from attending this great event.

Fortunately I have had the privilege of being able to go to Le Mans with a really great group of guys (they will know who they are). Two years ago I took my eldest son and one of his old schoolmates who are both now equally hooked and will be returning this year for their third time.

So thank you to the group I have had the pleasure of sharing that little corner of Blue Nord with, that is called home for a week for the last four years, and here is looking forward to a great 2014.
