DrS is rolling - almost an hour early, so I should meet up with him on the A1M in about 20.

See y'all on Friday lunch time if not before !!

Car cleaned (only one side was really dirty, the rain really was sideways on Sunday !) - all the levels and presures checked, GB sticker on, rear seats folded down, Resolve bought - just need to put my tent, sleeping bag and a few clothes in the car and it's almost time to head sarf !!

Have you checked:  passport, medical card, european breakdown (as if!), driving licence, car papers, insurance papers, ferry ticket, Camping/Entrance tickets, gaffer tape, jubliee clips and cable ties?

F..LB

Yes Mother police

except the medical card. If anything happens just toss me into a ditch. Oh, and breakdown card- old Alfa's don't break down do they? Huh

Check, check and chack - especially gaffer tape, bungie cord and tie-wraps - I've done some repair jobs in my time !!!

There I was, merrily walking over Milburngate Bridge when I heard something on tin twin 40's - looked up and saw DrS in his GTV !

Sounded the absolute dogs and looked pretty good too. Had a pre-match drinkie in Zen and then me and Ms Sideways had a trip to the Champagne Bar for a pre-LM warm up.

Is it too early to start packing?? I've run out of things to do on the car and I'm now itching to get going Grin

I'm rallying on Sunday - might start thinking about it after that !!

Yes Martin - the coffee maker is already packed. As is the Resolve and some indstrial strength ear plugs !! As for the Scouse lessons - I think you've been robbed. I'm a Durham lad - although I'm now learning SiSwati and SiZulu, you'll never understand them !!!

Dave - good to hear your in fine fettle. "Donor car"  Grin, all the bits are sitting safely in my hall - one day the little (ivory !) Giulia Sprint will be at the Classic.

No need for the "plenty understeer" name change - now the LSD is fitted, it behaves itself much better (it's never really been the ditchfinding, "idiots car for idiots" that TG made it out to be).

BTW - how many suitcases can I bring?

F

None Grin
As we are travelling by Alfa and it doesn't have much room and has no ground clearance (last trip we wore out the sumpguard), small tent, sleeping bag and a small holdall each is all we can take. Andy might have a little space in his car if we get stuck, but travel light and remember 'Carrefour WILL provide!'

The GTA is surprisingly spacious if you fold the rear seats down - but want to be as light as possible as the fuel consumption isn't very good at the best of times !!!!

Whatcha Martini - how's it going? Will we tempt you further than last year?

It was your idea !!!

The funniest things were the reply of "aye, avec chips love" to the poor lass in McDonalds and the nameless soul we met coming the other way through the tunnel at 5am who just stopped and said "there's no way out" very profound !! That's two, but both still make me laugh now !!

It was nice to see all the sympathetic people taking close ups of his face !!! Grin

Back in body, but not in mind - decided to give work up as bad job and get another few hours sleep.

Nice to meet so many CA'ers - I'm sure I'll remember more when I'm not as 'Dazed and Confused' !

Has anybody heard from Dr Sconefinger?

>Martini...LB

Not since Friday, could be a good sign - could be VERY bad ! Grin
13  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Isle of Man TT TV coverage. on: June 07, 2009, 12:50:17 am
The TT makes strapping yourself into a 30-40 year old rallycar, in the woods, seem like a totally sensible idea !

Balls of steel thsose lads.........makes a GpB S4 Delta seem a bit 'soft'?

I'm being wound up by everyone now, I'm just going to tell her tonight that I'm going and she can be greatful when I come back. Bloody woman, I do everything I'm told and this worm is turning!! If she doesn't like it she knows where the sodding door is

[/quote]

I've not heard a peep off DrS today, I saw a load of paving slabs and lime being delivered at his house though Grin

I hope my car was out of harms way when he told her !!!!
15  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Very quiet ....................... on: May 30, 2009, 09:24:20 pm
I've been getting the reverse psychology treatment lately, I'm off rallying tomorrow and she's been very keen for me to go down the night before - makes you wonder !!! Grin

There are 5 events I'm doing, plus the LM trip, in the next couple of months - so she's either very understanding or up to something Grin Grin

Anyway - just sending some more messages to DrS, I'm enjoying this !!!!

@Martini - just wait until you see my new jumper, it's nearly as good as my Martini Racing jacket - proper 1980's Markku Alen !!!
