Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: What is the unique attraction of the 24 Hours of Le Mans?

It's difficult to describe... the Le Mans week itself IS the unique attraction! It's the atmosphere... The cars, the people, the sound, the view... even the weather... I think, all these are the reason for that unique and special atmosphere at Le Mans... imagine a few hundred thousand people at the same racetrack - all there for the same reason: because they love motorsport, because they love Le Mans... Watching Le Mans is not enough... you must FEEL it... going there only once in your life won't be enough... it's like a drug... it fills your senses and makes you addicted... There's such an unbelievable amount of passion and joy at the circuit that you can almost touch it. Even though you sleep only a few hours during the entire race week, the positive energies of the event recharge your batteries for a whole year! I went in 2009 for the first time and I want to return to Le Mans since then... I wanted to go last year, but it didn't work out... I wanted to go this year but I didn't manage to save enough money Last year was OK but this year... it really hurts... But I will never give up! I know I will return to Le Mans - and not only once.

Club Arnage / 2013 / TICKETS FOR SALE! (grandstand tickets and general admission)
|
on: June 12, 2013, 11:29:07 am
|
Hello all! I have the following package of tickets for sale: - 1 grandstand ticket for Panorama for 90 EUR - 1 grandstand ticket for Stands for 70 EUR - 1 general admission for 54 EUR (I bought it with my club membership) - 1 Mulsanne/Arnage for the practice days for 12 EUR That makes a total of 226 EUR. Invoice available. I bought the tickets in November last year, but unfortunately I didn't manage to save enough money for the rest of the costs Now I have to sell the tickets, if I can... In case of interest, please, take into account that I'm sending you the tickets from Hungary and - although I'll send them in the quickest possible way - it could take 2 or 3 days for them to arrive at your address (within Europe - unless you live in Austria). If you're interested, please, contact me as soon as possible, so you can receive the tickets on time.

A friendly lady from Hotel Anjou gave me the e-mail address of a German race tour organiser recently. Unfortunately I don't know anything about them, except that they've booked the entire Hotel Anjou in Le Mans for this year. Maybe Werner or someone else from Germany has more information about the agency. Their website: http://www.mc-travel-events.de/Some links to the websites of this year's drivers: Franck Montagny, Peugeot (French only, but some of the ladies and gents on the forum speak English, and some of the questions and answers under "Trucs á dire" are in English, too. English website is on the way, it's only a matter of time): http://www.fmontagny.com/Christian Klien, Peugeot: http://www.christian-klien.com/DE/Home.htmlAlex Wurz, Peugeot: http://www.wurz.com/Pedro Lamy, Peugeot: http://www.pedrolamy.com/index.asp?lang=ENMarc Gené, Peugeot: http://www.marcgene.com/Timo Bernhard, Audi: http://www.timo-bernhard.de/index_d.phpRomain Dumas, Audi: http://www.romaindumas.com/Lucas Luhr, Audi: www.lucas-luhr.comMike Rockenfeller, Audi: http://www.mike-rockenfeller.de/homepage/front_content.php?changelang=3Alexandre Prémat, Audi: http://www.alexandrepremat.com/en/Simon Pagenaud, Pescarolo: http://www.simon-pagenaud.com/Benoit Tréluyer, Pesca: http://www.benoittreluyer.com/Bruno Senna, Oreca: http://www.brunosenna.com.br/Tiago Monteiro, Oreca: https://tiagomonteiro.com/index.aspxStéphane Ortelli, Oreca: http://www.stephaneortelli.net/Olivier Panis, Oreca: http://www.olivier-panis.com/Nicolas Lapierre, Oreca: http://www.nicolaslapierre.com/Soheil Ayari, Oreca: http://www.ayari.com/Andrew Meyrick, Kolles: http://www.andymeyrick.com/Michael Krumm, Kolles (half of the website is in Japanese): http://www.techniq-group.co.jp/mk/profile/Christian Bakkerud, Kolles: http://www.bakkerud.dk/english/Christijan Albers, Kolles: http://www.christijan.com/That's all for now...

Thanks Steve, but as for me - I can't... I will be on a mission in LM I want to write on-site reports for fellow Hungarian motorsport fans. Most of them don't know anything else but F1. Someone has to broaden their horizons. Plus I need the laptop to upload and store my photos. I don't want to buy more memory cards for my camera and those I have are just enough for 3 and a half days F1, so they definitely won't be enough for Le Mans.

I don't mind walking. I would even walk to the circuit if there was no tram, bus or any other solution It can't be much worse than walking up the hill from the train to the Hungaroring in 40 degrees in the blazing sun without any shadows on the way. As for scruffy hotel rooms: there's a hotel in Budapest which used to advertise itself as a 4 star hotel but in fact those 4 stars existed only on the paper. The hotel was so bad, it didn't even deserve 1 star.

Thanx, Phil, but I found a hotel room! Galaxie confirmed my booking yesterday. The reason why I asked about those 2 hotels (Galaxie and de Rennes) in this thread was that they had free room(s). I couldn't find any ratings on the internet for Galaxie but Termie said it's ok, so I booked there. Hotel de Rennes have positive AND negative ratings on the internet and their price was a bit higher than the offer of Galaxie. Mister Bed seems a bit weird for me... They say they're close to the city center. Looking at the map, it doesn't seem to be sooo close... Plus they want 90 € for a night and you can only book for 8 nights? I don't know if that hotel rating is true, but if it is: for that room they want 90 €? In Budapest during F1 you get a hotel room for 70-80 € in a 3 star hotel in the middle of the city center - in a proper room and with breakfast!
