2  Club Arnage / General Discussion / How dare they! on: June 04, 2009, 09:40:56 am
I stopped at the news kiosk outside Tower42 on my way to work this morning to pick up a copy of Autosport for the Le Mans Guide. There was a guy in front of me at the till so I went to flick through the pull out....but it wasn't there  Huh

I asked the couple running the kiosk if they had any spare copies rather than search the ones on the shelf, they asked why so I explained about the pull out I was looking for. The lady rummaged through the rubbish and asked "this?"  Evil

They had thought the pull out's were trash advertising literature, so pulled them all out and threw them away  Cry  OK its not the CA Guide, but I always give it a quick check in the build up to departure.

I pointed out the error of their ways and they duly started retrieving the disgarded guides for replacing back into the magazines.

Point to note - Check the guide is in the magazine before you buy it!

JDS - What day/sort of time are you getting down there? And where are you camping?

We're on MB (will turn the lights off before we leave from the sounds of it) and plan on getting there early/mid afternoon on the Wednesday.  We need 7more GE tickets, although I get get 4more with my ACO card. So if you're around when we get there I'm sure we can help relieve you of at least a couple. Else we'll buy on the gate and get the tents up before heading to Carrefour for supplies  Wink

We're in Rang G/H/I/J Place 8.

Unless I'm still under the influence of my practice session in the weekend sunshine, that's right near the entrance? Not sure how happy I am with that.....we're usually more central.  Huh

The map seems to show place 9 as the start of the numbering.  I've stuck our names on there anyway.

Taken our names out....arrived on Wednesday and our places didn't exist!  ended up being allocated 4 more places, near the trees in the middle. Can't remember the numbers though, mind must be clouded after the beers and hot weather  Smiley
6  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: So, is anyone actually on Maison B? on: May 20, 2009, 03:20:03 pm
We're going to be on Maison B, (dodging the tumble weed?)....there's been at least one of our group camped on there for the past 10years+ so it'd be rude not to return, unfortuately the Original Eric (PapaEric) is not going to be with us this year, say's he's getting too old to camp and so is staying in Florida a few days longer to ensure he doesn't surrender to the tempation. So I'm taking up the mantle of 'organiser' now, there's 9 of us this year, of the nine, four are newbies so I hope they have a warm welcome from all who see us. I don't know our pitch numbers off top of head but we'll have a green VW camper amongst our cars and at least one of us will have a Flat Eric visible somewhere in the car so if you see us, say hi.

In three weeks time, we'll be there..... Grin

8  Club Arnage / General Discussion / 2x ACO Tribune 18 seats for sale - SOLD on: April 28, 2009, 02:20:14 pm
I have two ACO Tribune seats that are not wanted by anyone else coming to Le Mans with me this year.

Face value is €102, which works out £95 each at the rate I was charged on my card. I would prefer to sell them as a pair but will seperate them if anyone wants to have just one seat.

If you want to collect them from me I work near Spitalfields in London, live in NW Kent. Else they can be posted 1st class.

9  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Who, what, where and when. 2009. on: April 09, 2009, 02:48:24 pm
Who : Team Eric, numbers not confirmed yet, probably 8 or 9 of us.
Confirmed: Me, Tim, Rob, Neil, KatY.
Probable : Mike and his passengers still owe me for the camping ticket so are not definite yet.
Still not made their minds up: Richard, Mark.

What : If we get them back on the road in time my Quantum2+2, my brothers 'not quite standard' VW Caddy, Rob ???not bought it yet??? Le Mans fun car, and Mike in whatever he's driving now (I haven't a clue). All to be confirmed in May, but we have back up cars in case the 'preferred' ones don't get re-assembled in time.

Out - Wednesday 10th 05:55 Dover-Calais, P&O

Where - Camping on MB.

Back - Monday on the 12:25 Calais-Dover (I think...can't remember what time we booked now, must check booking before we go!, but usually go for no earlier than 12)

Are we the most un-organised bunch going??? Easter and two bank holiday weekends to get the cars put back together, plenty of time!!!!  Grin
10  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: ALLOCATION FOR 2009 RECEIVED on: January 16, 2009, 02:01:07 pm
Allocation received....4x MB camp tickets as usual  Smiley

Some of us have booked our ferry too, leaving Dover on P&O 05:55 crossing on the Wednesday. I'm sure we'll see plenty of others on there heading to Le Mans.

We might be on the 'Magic List'. Been ordering these tickets for years and not had a problem with allocation yet  Lips Sealed

Good luck to all those who've not heard yet, roll on June.

- note to self...must finish putting car back together in time.
