Me and son Callum (25) - first pilgrimage for us both since 2004. Thought about buying an MGF for the trip, but no room for tent as well as man-bags. Then contemplated a Mazda MX5 (more boot space and a lot more reliable) but money IS an object . Was then offered the use of a Mercedes SL500 (nice but thirsty ) but that is suffering gearbox issues. So we will be in Callum's Focus Sport 1.6 Newhaven - Dieppe Monday night arriving 4am ready for breakfast in Honfleur. Camping near Arromanche Tuesday night before LeMans from Weds night, in Tetre Rouge with the rest of the Bedford CF Challenge Pensioners. Back to Dieppe for Monday pm sailing.

So it's 10 whole years since the last visit to Le Sarthe - ignoring a trip to the Classic. Last time my son was 15, so this time I'll share the driving (if he will let me ). But it's great to know some things don't change. My car STILL has a CA sticker in the rear window "Real Men Do It For 24 Hours ", I have dug out the 2004 CA T-Shirt (suppose I had better order the new one) and the 'Modern Commer Replacement' thread is STILL going ! Happy days !

Matt - Don't wear that disguise - you would be mistaken for either George Bush or Tony Blair ........ the Gorilla-suit look would be better - and it (possibly ?) wouldn't need so much prior preparation !!

I've witnessed that as well, but usually use the Print Option in the File menu at the top with no probs ...
but this is a bit tedious when trying to print loing threads - who what where being the notable exception. smokie

He's got exams in the next two years - or that's my excuse. Besides, we took him when he was 9 weeks old - to take him now would be a serious drain on the beer supply - what are 15 yr olds coming to !?

H, you may be right. It's been over the Fathers Day weekend for the last few years so it is early. At last ! Breakfast in bed, papers, warm slippers, the latest Who CD - all provided willingly by my adoring son ..... who for the past xxx years has used the excuse of me being in France for a total lack of Fathers day presents .....

Club Arnage / Help / Re:Tertre Rouge pitches

Hi , Minic. There are rudimentary pitches marked out in TR, 'tho few people pay any attention to them! A lot depends upon when you plan to arrive - by Thursday night you should have no trouble at all, by Friday night things start to get a tad busy, by Saturday morning a toilet tent is about all you can expect to erect ! Don't panic - there's always somewhere to doss down, even if you have a tree growing through the gazebo ! Plus - if you have a hot tub, you will find lots of people prepared to make room for you !
