Kristoff how about a dummy camera bag with a booby trap? Hope you have better luck in Monza than imola.have a great meeting.
An AK47 will do perfectly Past races in Monza were without public and rather stressless. Let's hope the paddock will be completely closed off for the public, that should keep life a bit "easier". It's just annoying having to walk out with a full backpack every time as even the lockers in the MC aren't safe.

I think they have already said they won't be doing the two flyaways as they don't sell cars in those parts of the world.
Japan will be cancelled and replaced by a race in Europe, probably Le Castellet or Barcelona. Bahrain will be the only flyaway so far (if that doesn't get cancelled too, covid cases have been increasing dramatically over there in the past weeks).

Couldn't agree more, he had extra time to get his cars built too, so should have been ready with at least one for the start of this, delayed, season! Plus, this season is, probably, his only chance of getting some podiums, with Peugeot returning next year and then Audi, Porsche and Ferrari, after that.
Time will tell of course, but the chances are Glickenhaus will turn out to be another ByKolles or Ginetta, sadly. All credit to the guy for giving it a go but I think he under estimated the work (and cost) involved by some margin... Especially if he wants to be competitive.
Been up and close with the Glickenhaus 007 last weekend in Portimao, and it certainly isn't another Bykolles or Ginetta. Car looks way better in person than on pictures too. The build quality of that car and attention to detail is miles away from the crap that both Ginetta and ByKolles have been using. They still miss speed and reliability at the moment, but might be on to something. Give them a bit of time, it could be interesting

Club Arnage / General Discussion / Monza WEC race open for public

First WEC race to host public again, next month in Monza. No news about ELMS the weekend before (yet). https://www.fiawec.com/en/news/fia-wec-welcomes-back-limited-number-of-fans-for-monza/7079Next month’s 6 Hours of Monza will be the first race this year where Autodromo Nazionale Monza will host a limited number of fans – all in accordance with COVID-19 regulations. The circuit will welcome spectators on Sunday 18 July, appropriately spaced and on the right grandstand of the starting straight. The seats will be assigned at the time of ticket purchase, which must be done only through authorised online retailers. Together with the ticket, a parking space inside the circuit will also be guaranteed. Until Wednesday 30 June, tickets will be on sale at a discounted price via www.monzanet.it and www.ticketone.it. Entry costs 60 euros, while it will be free for children up to six-years-old and will cost 1 euro for those between seven and 11. Those aged between 12 and 17 plus the over 75s will be charged 30 euros. From Thursday 1 July, the prices will increase. Fans can book their seats online ahead of the event but will not be permitted to purchase in person at the doors. It will be necessary to complete a check-in procedure which will allow tracking of spectators for the protection of their health. If regulations change, tickets already booked will be refunded for the full face value of the price. Any updates will be promptly communicated on the website www.monzanet.it. Good to see some public back in the grandstands, sadly the thieving c*nts will return to the track too in Italy. Will be an "interesting" 12 days holding on to your gear as soon you get out of the media center.

Ah, I feel your pain . New qualifying format at LM isn't much better with that hyperpole stuff they introduced last year. Should just let everyone set a time over 2 sessions like they used to do, much more entertaining.

Glickenhaus has been screwed by Aston Martin which delayed their development.
It's due to AMR that engine regs have been changed which meant Glickenhaus' deal to use Alfa Romeo engines went bust, only for AMR cancelling their Valkyrie project months later (which wasn't really unexpected, but the damage had been done). I guess that might have delayed the development of the car as the new engine needed to be fitted in correctly.

Glickenhaus have already said they will miss the first WEC round at Sebring (if it happens anyway), I don't think they have built the first car yet, let alone a second one!
First car is being built now, testing scheduled for February/March after homologation. Don't see Sebring happening to be honest. There should be a "back-up" plan for the WEC test and first race in Europe around the same dates as Sebring, although in the current conditions with new lockdowns in the UK and an extended lockdown in Germany even that could well be in jeopardy.

This might rule out scrutineering in town for next year. I can see them do scrutineering for the test day on Friday/Saturday (or Thursday/Friday) at the track (as always with test day), and a second scrutineering for the race on Monday afternoon/Tuesday also at the track as they did this year. Was way faster than the usual 'show' in town, and also easy to organise for media to take the team shots on the track itself.
I've got a feeling that the first half of 2021 might be very similar to 2020 with very limited access to races for spectators and media.

Isn't Silverstone a back up in case they cant go to the states due to covid 19?
19th of March at Silverstone. Oh joy! They would have to reschedule the date if that were to happen. During the ACO press conference it was stated that if Sebring couldn't go ahead then there would be a race in Europe in early April. Everyone is presuming that would be Silverstone, but still likely to be cold and damp in April, with the chance of snow! I would put my money on Portimao for March.

For some reason, I can't pull up Autosport, "set back" meaning..... A change of time?....removed altogether? If removed, no "leak check" for some team(s) that may have had an off and needed major repairs? Walking into the race blind with "book" setup? Ouch. If so, this is incorrect? (from LeMans.org): Timetable sessions Thu 17 Sep - 10h00 Free Practice 1 3H Thu 17 Sep - 14h00 Free Practice 2 3H Thu 17 Sep - 17h15 Qualification 45min Thu 17 Sep - 20h00 Free Practice 3 4H Fri 18 Sep - 10h00 Free Practice 4 1H Fri 18 Sep - 11h30 Hyperpole 30min Sat 19 Sep - 10h30 Warm up 15minSat 19 Sep - 14h30 Race 24H This is the current "official" timetable Add the support races and Thursday will be hell on earth if you're working for teams in the 24 hours and Road to Le Mans race. To be honest, looking at this schedule it's made te be run behind closed doors or limited access for public. I doubt the paddocks will be accessible, probably only (a part of) the village on the inside of the track. No time slot for a pitwalk on Friday, no mention of the parade in town ... Great British Welcome at St Saturnin has also been cancelled.
