Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Is it possible to cycle the entire circuit ?

Is it possible, say on the Thursday evening or Friday morning, to cycle round the whole lap of the circuit ? For example, if we started at the Porsche curves, could we cycle up the pit straight and under the Dunlop bridge round to Tetre Rouge ?
Or is there stuff going on which would prevent that ? Or even, would the security bods get grumpy ? I know there are some fairly substantial fences / barriers around by Tetre Rouge, but was working on the basis that they would probably have been removed by then, so there may only be some temporary barriers to negotiate.
Well, the answer is yes, it is possible No barriers, no security (though we were probably on CCTV from the moment we humped the bikes over the barrier at the Porsche curves...) and the big white barriers had all been taken down. The hill up to the Dunlop Bridge is quite long and gets a bit steep though...

Wasn't planning on leaving until the Monday morning so will probably be having a relaxed BBQ and finishing off any surplus beer and wine we may have left.
Based on the number of people still on Houx on the Sunday evening after the main race, it seems that a lot of people chose to do the same so I'd be surprised if the Classic is much different.

Just one thing the taps are an odd size, make sure you have a few adaptors. Or some duct tape... I think we've got various adapters and hose end fittings in The Bus, so should be able to cobble something together. Worst case there's a Leroy Merlin nearby. You can also empty your loo, in the big sewer hole by the loos in the middle of BN.
Oooh, sounds delightful... But handy... Thanks for that

Club Arnage / General Discussion / Camping Bleu Nord - Availability of water
|

Morning everyone,
Is there water available from stand pipes on Bleu Nord ? Just looking to find out whether it's possible to fill up the water tanks on our motorhome once we get to the site, or whether we'll need to do it beforehand.
From what I can tell, there is water on Blue Sud but it's the 'timer' type taps which you have to keep held in, which isn't the end of the world. But I couldn't find anything which said that there was something similar on Blue Nord.
Thanks in advance.

Can also confirm that when we went to Mulsanne on Sunday at about 11 am we did not have a pass and absolutely nobody cared. Pretty much every car was without pass.
Guess they might be pretty hot at the start for the passes but don't expect it lasts.
We got stung at Mulsanne corner for a parking ticket on the Saturday morning when we went down to watch the Porker and Group C support races. But we didn't venture down to Arnage or Mulsanne again so no idea how hot they were on checking them later in the weekend.

Saturday afternoon, the public will be able to meet historical drivers who contributed to the brand’s prize list during an autograph session in the Porsche lounge. Among them: Gérard Larousse, René Metge, Hans Hermann, Vic Elford and Laurent Aiello.[/i]
Can I please ask a daft question - where is the 'Porsche Lounge' ?? Would like to get along to this session, but currently have no clue where it is !

Please, please, please can I ask soneone who is attending the Classic to try and get some stunning pictures of this car?
2010 is also the 40th anniversary of the film « Le Mans » starring famous actor-driver Steve McQueen. Saturday morning a tribute will be made with a parade dedicated to the film with the presence of the Porsche 908/2 Spyder, the car with which the actor excelled with a 2nd place at Sebring in 1970.
Some full vehicle shots, abstract, weird, detail, wonderful, colour, b&w........anyhting really!
Would you consider payment in beer or your preferred tipple?
Am prepared to beg if required.
This car, correct ?: If so, will keep my peepers open for it on track and in the paddock, etc.

- I bet that was a little 'exciting' !! Hope you get it fixed soon - saw the car at Mulsanne last year and it's lovely. Mind you, the C-Type is rather nice too !! Another film I rather like is "La Ronde Infernale" which was made in, I think, the late 60's or very early 70's. Again, it's quite eye-opening to see the circuit then, and the total absence of things we take for granted now, such as armco, run-off areas and frequent marshall posts.

PS I remember seeing the Hawthorn video in A D-type giving a commentary as he does a lap. He overtakes a chap with a beret and onions on the handlebars. another option perhaps? Hmmm, a cunning disguise indeed !! I'm sure I can rustle up some suitable head-wear, but if you'd care to lend me your D-Type so I can really blend in then that would be grand
