Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Club Arnage meeting at the Le Mans Classic?
|
on: July 06, 2016, 01:06:50 pm

First time at the classic this year having been unable to make the main event for only the 2nd time in 13 or so years. What's the deal with road closures around the circuit? Is the one way system enforced by the local gendarmes or due to numbers are all roads just open as normal?
Also, do you have to pay for parking down at Mulsanne and Arnage?
Thanks

Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Club Arnage Guide its time to say good-bye!

Massive thank you Werner. The guide was an integral part of our weekend away, reading it on the way down and referring to it through the weekend. Unrivalled in its completeness and back before everything was Googlable enabled us newbies to experiences bits of LM we ever knew about. I still have a number of beaten up copies knocking around the back of the BMW. It was with immense pride that I had a piece published regarding the race result one year.
But in summary, thanks!

Club Arnage / 2015 / WANTED 3 entry tickets - pick up in LM
|

Morning All
We're doing a smaller trip than usual, arriving in LM Friday mid-morning. If anyone has any entry tickets they're trying to offload then I'd be happy to meet over there and do the deal. I'm on 07977 4040 14 and could meet by the Masion Blanche entrance, main entrance etc.
Just a thought, if not, have a good time everybody.
Cheers
Tony

Club Arnage / 2013 / Desperately seeking 2 x Tribune 16 Sommer grandstand tickets - WANTED
|
on: June 16, 2013, 08:21:22 am
|
Hi, due to a mishap in planning I currently have 2 Sommer (Tribune 16) grandstand tickets but there are 4 of us going!!!
Does anybody have, or know of anyone, who has 2 Sommer grandstand tickets for sale? They don't have to be together so singles will be fine as well and we don't leave until Friday (unfortuntely) so still plenty of time for posting.
Here's hoping...

Industrial zone is an option although we like to go there in the night so take a load of gear in with us. Bit of a drag carting it up the road - camping means you can go all the way up to the embankment.
Anyway, I think last year you could only get to the official parking with a permit/pass of some sort. Not a big deal, we'll get in there one way or another.

All sorted now - thanks Smokie, Jules and Andymac.
My last request would be if anyone has a spare Mulsanne camping or parking ticket. Let me know...
Cheers All

Club Arnage / 2013 / Last minute request
|
on: June 05, 2013, 10:01:58 am

Following last minute permissions for 2 of us from pregnant wives, my group is back on for its 12th consecutive year. But we have no tickets - none whatsoever! So, can anyone help with the following:
Camping - 1 ticket - preference is for Bleu, MB, Houx if possible.
Grandstands - 4 tickets, preferably together although not essential. Ideally with a view of a screen, obviously.
Here's hoping

Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Radio Le Mans

There I was thinking I was just being grumpy. But we all had the same discussion that RLM focused less on the actual race this year than ever before.
It really has turned into a back-slapping social for the team, talking incessantly about their passion for the race and how it is a part of their fabric. But simultaneously failing to deliver any meaningful updates on the race itself.
I still found it necessary as the large TVs have taken to showing the positions in much smaller writing which I can't see!
I just wish Kangaroo TV would come back.

Audi can only beat what what is up against them - the fact that Toyota only managed to get 2 cars to the grid both of which didn't make it past midnight. Surely now is the best time for a challenger to emerge and depose the current king of Le Mans. What better kudos than to strike down the most dominant team on the grid and in recent LM history.
Shame more on the ACO for failing to attract a big name challenger and the motorsport industry for not providing one.
By the way, the excitement surrounding the Deltawing was tangible at the track even if it didn't come across on the TV. I think it is outrageous the leniency shown to the Toyotas for unceremoniously knocking it.
