1  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Sea France down the pan? on: February 08, 2012, 10:34:35 am
I saw in the Sunday Times that Eurotunnel were looking at buying Sea France ships but there was a competition complaint from P&O and other carriers.  Seems that the story is already out of date 3 days later!
2  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Tertre Rouge Bar to CLOSE in September 2010 on: June 21, 2010, 10:05:26 pm
We were in there on friday night when there was an emotional speech from the landlady saying that this was her last Le Mans working there. If I recall correctly (which to be fair is pretty unlikely given the amount of alcohol consumed during the day) I'm sure she said she would be back next year as a customer. Take that with a pinch of salt though!!!

The speech was then followed by an farewell Karaoke session from some of the customers who really should have known better than to try and sing in public........

Wasn't that on the Saturday after the football?  We had a table reserved for the England game and witnessed some numpty knock her hat off and then slap her when she asked him to leave.  Suffice to say his night didn't end well.
3  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Silverstone FIA GTs .. who's going? on: April 30, 2009, 02:51:10 pm
Will be there Saturday and Sunday, camping two nights at Whittlebury.  Can't wait to load up the Vette, it'll be just like going to Le Mans but without the theiving pikeys and chav element.
4  Club Arnage / 2013 / ACO allocation for 6 people, 3 cars available... on: February 07, 2009, 09:42:05 am
As is usual with the ACO I've booked my tickets through an agency to get the site I want (Tetre Rouge) and have now received my allocation letter from the ACO.  I did this for the Le Mans Classic and sold my allocation through Club Arnage so have posted on here again.

The allocation is for 6 people (general admission weekend ticket) at 62e each, 6 seats in Tribune 12 Benoist (82e each) and 3 camping spots in Pincenardiere which is next to the new BSJ roundabout at 49e each.

The total is 1027.50e.  I've got 2 weeks to take up the allocation so if you've left it late and want the entire package then contact me through this.  I won't split this, it's either all or nothing.  I'm not making a profit, simply making it easy for the late folk to get a face value package.
5  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: A1 GP Brands - 2nd, 3rd, 4th May - Dutchies? on: May 13, 2008, 09:38:42 pm
Myself and Buz will be down there sometime Friday afternoon in a pair of Vettes.  Keep an ear out for us as we'll be in need of beer as soon as we arrive.

Kentagon on Friday and Saturday is a cert.

So where the fluck were you then? Huh

We were pitched up towards the rear of the site, one row (if you could call it that) away from the treeline, about 100ft in from the main 'track'.  Saw Rick on the Friday evening as we nipped off site to get some provisions, hit the Kentagon on Friday and then Saturday got invited to a neighbours tent for burgers and beer.

The flagpole was out with all the Corvette flags so we should have been easily spotted.

Oh dear, there goes the neighborhood Grin (remembring Donington LMS '06)

See you all Friday / Saturday

Ahhhh yes, happy memories!  Since then I've had the engine rebuilt so won't be sat feathering the redline at 2am.

Anyone else going to this, next weekend?

We're staying at Whittlebury park, arriving Saturday midday-ish.

Might be cold  Roll Eyes

I'm heading down Whittlebury, taking a 4 season bag and double duvet.  Last weekend I camped up at Croft for a bike meet so going to take a few extra layers as that was ruddy freezing.

Should be there early doors, few lads arrive mid avo and then on the ales in the evening.
9  Club Arnage / 2008 / Karting Nord car pass required for CLASSIC on: March 03, 2008, 09:56:01 pm
I've now sold on my MB Classic allocation to CA fella's but now need an extra Karting Nord pass.  Any one got a spare camping pass please PM me.  Otherwise the lad will have to go to an agency with his cheque book at the ready.
10  Club Arnage / 2008 / Re: MB camping passes x 2 wanted for CLASSIC on: February 22, 2008, 08:44:36 am
I've just received my allocation letter for the Classic for 2 MB and 2 Gen Admin.  Last week I bought KN tickets online so another car can join us.  If this is any use get in touch and I can get the tickets arranged to save missing out.

These have now gone to a good home.

Hi
I will take the MB tickets etc off you, although I will need to sell one of each.

PM me with details

Thanks

>Martini...

Piglet has requested one already and offered to shift the other if needed.  I'll just confirm that it's ok to split the allocation between you two and let you know.

ETA
Apparently you were the guy she'd got in mind.  PM on it's way.

13  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Classic Le Mans 2008 - Are you coming too? on: January 27, 2008, 04:04:25 pm
I'm taking the 78 Pace Car over for this, just having a new box fitted, air con and maybe a horny chambered exhaust to relace the cherry bombs.  A mates also driving over my 92 so if you see two Corvettes enroute give us a wave.  Applied for tickets, email response but no allocation as yet.  Could end up anywhere I guess.
14  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Corvettes: Do You Prefer New or Old? on: July 25, 2007, 02:52:05 pm
I think the 'lady' at Donington last year seemed to prefer the one in the museum to yours.........

What is it with these people that need sleep and can't appreciate a V8 being "gently" rev'd at 1am?  I'll be on my best behaviour at Silverstone this weekend of course.
15  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Corvettes: Do You Prefer New or Old? on: July 25, 2007, 02:44:55 pm
There's an article in this months Classic American about a fella in the UK who bought a 78 Pace Car which has less than 10 miles on the clock.  The last time I saw it the thing was on display at the NEC Classic show over a year ago and just looked drab.  It's never been washed, never polished, driven about twice and is now stuck in limbo.  If you drive it the value drops, you can't sell it unless the buyer does the same and mothballs it or transports it.  Think 35k is about the valuation.  He's even proud that it has the dust from 1978 on the airfilter!!

Give me my 78 Pace Car anyday, done Le Mans 3 times, TT twice, Hockenhiem and countless weekends away.  Who gets the most pleasure out of their car?
