Hello all...

Just taking a few minutes to post a greeting to you all.  I hope those of you that are going to the Great Race this June have a good time. 

I got to fulfill a long time dream last year by being there.  Met some great people, and appreciate the kindness and hospitality of several !!!   

The subsequent year has been a bit tough (family issues, several job changes...  those life things) and I didn't get much chance to post here or even logon much...

Anyway, I wish you all the best at LM 2008.   I wish I was going to be there !

Hello all............    This is the sequel to my topic in the Help! forum   

I'm back at home in Calgary now and finally starting to catch up on stuff.  But I wanted to drop a note onto the forum. 

I especially want to thank Piglet and KeithK for their hospitality, kindness and generousity !!!   Wow, you made my first LeMans a great experience !!

It was also great actually meeting a lot of you...  Always fun putting faces and names to avitars ! 

Termie...  Thx for the loan of the tent !

Give me a few days and I'll add a longer 'trip report' here about my experience, what I learnt and any tips/hints for some future traveller who finds this...   hee hee

Just 7 days and 17 hrs til I fly out of Calgary and start making my way to the mecca of endurance racing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sat Jun 9  fly from calgary to london  arriving sunday morning
Sun Jun10  staying in london hotel to sleep off jet lag
Mon Jun 11 early start !!  tube to Vic Station, EuroStar to Lille FR, TGV to LeMans
Tues to Sun .....   on location     soaking in the experience of LeMans, new friends, endurance sports car racing and the THE RACE   WOW !!!!  waited 20+ years for this...   
Monday Jun 18  TGV to Paris..  EasyJet to Ireland

Is there Mosquitos in France ?? Do I need bug dope ..........

Sunscreen for sure !

Kind of an odd question, but I assume bank machines are everywhere just as they are here ??   

will the t-shirts be available at LM ??

We were planning to bring sleeping bags, hadn't thought about foamies....   Rain gear !  We can't bring camp stoves or similar as they will not allow them on airplanes these days. 

And of course we are MOST INDEBTED to Mrs. Termie for the own or a tent, and of course yourself for making us feel so welcome to meet up and share the LM experience.

PS:  it snowed again here Thursday and Friday, hard to believe that it is less than 60 days to late June !
