I will be there with a few others. Arriving Thurs afternoon staying in BSJ. Last time we stayed there (2010) Sun night was like a bad night in Beirut, hope the security has improved.

Silver CRV with Scotland flag will likely be us. Unfortunately there are 4 of us and all the gear so the Scooby is being left at home Sad Should have bought the wagon........

I have stayed at CPR a couple of times during the 24 hours. The last few times they have run a bus between the track and campsite for a charge, might be woRth phoning and finding out if they are doing this, since I know the ownership has changed and so has the price - risen dramatically.

Last time however I did what you are suggesting which is to get a parking rouge (which is really easy to get in and out of the track from, no queuing at all even at the end of the race) and then stay in the car for a few hours kip or just don't drink and then nip back to the campsite (which is what I did). Just make sure you park up against the fence to prevent getting parked in.

The bakery is only about a brisk 10 minutes walk in the morning and a big supermarket is only about 10 min drive. The bus into town goes direct from the town hall.

Be aware that the branch line of the tram line terminates in a pretty dodgy area. We had booked a taxi to pick us up from their and were very glad when it arrived. The #23 bus that you mention does not run late and so if you plan to send your wife back on the tram and then bus I would highly recommend you check the times.

Deepest condolences to you for the loss.

I only met her a few times at various tracks but I do remember the 1st time well where I spent an enjoyable few hours shooting the breeze in the Woodcote grandstand at Silverstone during a classic sportscar race on the LMES weekend.  She loved her sportscar racing and her slot cars if my memory serves me correct (another shared passion).

Can also confirm that when we went to Mulsanne on Sunday at about 11 am we did not have a pass and absolutely nobody cared. Pretty much every car was without pass.

Guess they might be pretty hot at the start for the passes but don't expect it lasts.

I on the other hand won £54. Better than a kick in the teeth.

Just to answer my own question bwin.com are now doing a book on the race.

Thats a 2005 standard WRX I think. Just like mine accept Prodrive have had a tinker under the bonnet and with the ECU. So it is now considerably quicker and in partciular torqueier (is that even a word) than that gendarmes model.

I agree the new hatchback version is pretty ugly. I find it looks pretty similar to the Mazdaspeed 3. Not a flattering comparison.

I missed last year for the 1st time (to get wed) in 7 and trust me when it came 3pm on Saturday sitting watching the start on Europsort I said never again will I miss this. This year the anticipation is far greater as a result

Stay away for a year only makes the hunger come back.

No worries. Glad you are now sorted.

You should have PM. If not let me know (I can't find the message I wrote and hit send on in the outbox).

I had a look on all the big sites betfair included but nobody has a book open yet. However looking at the events listed under motorsport it probably is too early. I will check back in a week.

Every footy game we go to we do the corner game. Can turn a boring game into a real nail biter. Also do it with every thankyou during the speeches at weddings. That can get interesting if you have had a few glasses of Pimms. Worst was shouting at the bestman that he needed a few extra thankyous to make. Nobody else at the wedding had a clue what all the raucousness was about.

No one will be sober. hence why using an online account that tells you if you won after the event may be necessary.

Fantasy Le Mans - whats wrong with the real one?
13  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Betting on Le Mans on: May 25, 2010, 10:09:47 pm
Anyone ever placed a bet on Le Mans. I just looked at William Hill, Paddy Power and Blue Sq and no-one has any odds on the website. But may'be its too early.

Thought it would be a laugh to have a few bets on 1st in class, 1st to retire etc. Keep some of the lesser race minded members of our party interested.

Any ideas. Obviously don't want to go into a bookies in France (if they even exist) as I don't plan to be around on Monday to pick up any potential winnings.

Just had my subscription through the post and there is an article on the Peugeot 908, and a Q+A with McNish. Also noticed a plug just below for club arnage and beermountain as the place to go for pre-race banter and insider tips.

Good suggestion. The o/h is on good terms with the owner of the Yvres campsite so we can just phone and get there recommendation and then book one the day before. Arrange to get picked up at the main gate.

I did not imagine Yvres would have there own taxi company!
