thanks for that Since asking the question I have found some pictures of it taken in 2002 at a Ferrari get together but pictures of it in racing are very hard to come by. I will use you picture and compare it with the 2002 picture and then the model.

Hi All

I have not been around CA for some time especially as I could not make the anual pilgrimage this year but I need a little help on the LM front and thought this would be the place to ask. I have been asked to write a review on a new Slot car (Salextric) of the Ferrari 512 sponsered by 3m that raced in 1979.

Does any one have a picture of this car (the real one) so I can compare the model "paintwork" for accuarcy I can find pictures all over the net of the 512 but none of the 3M car.

Don't forget that team Jota in the Zytek is an English team (from Kent) driving an English built car fitted with an English engine and driven by two English drivers. If this does not qualify it for support from CA what does?

I found myself reading Autosport today well it was a long train journey, on page 23 there is an artical  on the change of dates for pre qual next year. That Ok but in the same artical there is a spoksman for the ACO saying that the race is on June 20-21? This is a Monday and Tuesday. Had he just had to much wine or does he know somthing we dont?

Hi All

As luck would have it I find myself in Arnage on Friday night (shame it was not last week but that's life) Although I have driven through Arnage every year it is usually in the middle of the night on my way to the corner but I have never stopped and got out.  

My question is... can any of of the usual crowd recommend a restaurant Arnage, and there are usually lots of people enjoying a drink and food so where do you recommend

Sorry to be little thick but I was intending to go Sat and Sunday but now find myself double booked for Saturday.  

Which day are the LMES car racing?

The silverstone web site is not helpful as it states Fri to Sunday as race day, I don't mind missing practice but I would like to see the race.

Apologies if this has been discussed before but I have trawled the last few pages and not found any info.

With the increase in Petrol here in blighty it puts a different perspective on the ratio of UK to FR petrol used.

I have been to the parade for 4 years now and each year I say never again! It not the parade but the getting back.

Can anyone explain why the ACO put on buses all day to get punters into town and then just 2 back when the parade finishes?

Thanks last year to the fluent french speaker that hijacked the taxi and let us share the ride back for free

Yes I know is a long drive but we have two drivers and took the journey there and back in two days hence the Tuesday return.

£124  P&O  out Wed Lunch time back Tues Morning

bit sick though we booked last december but if we had waited we could have done it for £60

Also went to the parade Friday as always. usually we drive in but then one cant drink so this year we took the bus. Great for getting into town BUT whos idea was it to put only two buses cominback after the parade!!!!!   Surley even the French now that 10 buses into town does not equal 2 buses back  even if 75% of the in crowd find there own way home that still leaves more than two busses. That said the taxi back was and experence and not that expensive considering it was race weekend and the taxi drive had a que  hundreds stong fighting for his trade.

Think next year we will go back to driving as where else can you see real drivers that close up

She was watching eurosport but must have had her eyes closed as she could not see me. after all there was not many people in the Tribunes!  

Strange you should say that she is a verteran of the 2001 storm and attended again in 2002 and is included in the plans for 2004 it was only she has an exam coming up and needed to study that stopped her going this year.

I think she just got feed up on the computer and decided to go into wind up mode.
