I apologise for the content of this thread, but there I was tonight, going through my CA Guide list of "things ye must take", when I saw condoms mentioned not once but twice.

Hang on, I thought, that seems a strange thing to take along. So, either I've missed the point before and Le Mans is in fact the biggest Village People festival in the Northern Hemisphere, or they're for improvised water bombs, or there's naughtiness of an adult nature at LM that I hadn't heard of.

What's the story? Or is it "No story, we're just all optimists"?

I have to agree with the "very pretty but leave 'em at home" comments. I'm not so worried about my head - 13 years of marriage has rendered my skin very thick - but if some bugger landed a rocket on my car I'd be most unimpressed....

Although, to be fair, the CA LM Guide does suggest buying very, very big bangers :-)

Folks,

Two "jumpseat" spaces available...

One in a Datsun 260Z (me), one in an A-Team van (yes, really).

Out : 7:55am P&O sailing Dover-Calais Thursday 15th
Back : 2pm P&O sailing Calais-Dover Monday 19th

Travelling as part of the "Maison Blanche Buttmonkeys" group (25 people, 15 cars so far).

Haven't worked out exact cost yet, but need funds for ferry tickets and contribution to vehicle camping pass and petrol (ballpark £175, maybe a bit more depending on how the petrol goes!). You'll need to buy General Entry tickets when you get there.

Bring your own tent, unless you look like Claudia Schiffer in which case I might share :-)

If you don't want to camp with us but rather do your own thing or meet up with some other bunch then I won't ask for a contrib to the car camping pass, which will save you some £.
