Mine arrived as well,
I wondered what it was being quite heavy with the box in a big loose bag.

I see they have a 'Ban the Bomb' sign.

That is what it needs, a bomb!

Maybe we are just sociable  people Kiss

Bob, I am totally with you on this.  Where's the harm in conversing with new found friends about things close to our heart?

There must be a 'Forum' for that somewhere as well!

I am Karting with a bunch of GT40 Enthusiasts at Aldershot on the 30th, I will see if I can get some of them to join us.

Some of the GT40 lot are interested, but said it was to early to commit themselves

Modern day technology is great, such a good likeness, do you think they do copies? Grin

I didn't think they would get you at Mach 1, and with the visor down.  Wink

Myself and my two sons were sorry to hear Richard had past away the other day.

We new him in the 80s when Richard and my sons Davis and Paul were all members of the Under 17 Car Club driving their fathers cars arround in their early teens at many venues including Castle Coumbe.

RIP Richard you will be greatly missed

Have only just found this thread

My son Paul did a scale LeMans Scalextric some years ago.
It ran through the lounge dining room and hall, all with ajoining doors.

He then held a 24hr race (not scale time)

Norman, am I right in recalling seeing you and your Teal at Le Mans in 1999 / 2000 on a Continental Car Tours trip?

If a remember I did the trip with one of the Kit Car Mags organised with Ian Hyne and a friend of his Guy (cannot remember his sirname) once we stayed on the Blue camp site and for a few years at Spay although I thought that was before 99/00.
Trouble is over all the years I have done LeMans in veriouse cars and ways, some times I have done 100% my own thing other times joining in for some things but still going of on my own when it suits me.

One year I remember watching the start at Arnage Corner, next to me there was a French familly with tables, chairs, food and wine. The farther asked in his brocken English was I 'Monsieur Bugatti' having recognised me from other years. I said I was so he offered me a glass of wine. Then the cars came round on their first lap they opend a bottle of Champagne, how could I refuse! Later in the evening I went away from the curcuit for a meal with some friends, telling them of my French aquantence another group should walk in and shouted out 'HALLO NORMAN'

Hi Norman,

Welcome...

The karting track in Aldershot you went to - was it the one on the army base with the truly awful banked corner?

Thats the one, nice and handy for me going through the back doubles.

welcome Norman, have seen your exploits in kit car magazine with son david!!  don't give up on the racing there is more than the LM 24 we go to.  Having said that i'm one of the few that have NOT been to sebring. Tongue Tongue Tongue

also, in less than 15 words why has it taken you so long to join our merry band mmmmmmh?

In less than 15 words!

Am new to forums, started on a Jag site, then PistonHeads, through that found ClubArnage

I would be intersed in buying but it will not quite fit my garage.

Mind you at 5,000 Lts/Hr the Jag dosn't seem to bad.

Welcome, surely the Astons interest you?

That's true, but I think I will still give it a miss next year and leave it as just the Classic. I will be taking in both the Goodwood's as well.

I did drive the 'Ring' this year, didn't kill myself or the car, going back to try again.  Wink

I have been going to LeMans for over 30 years now including the 2 Classics in '02 and '04. This year I decided to make this the last traditional LeMans as the cars now racing don't interest me, and showing my age neither does the camping and crowds. From now I will just do the Classic with a good hotel (already booked).

I live in Surrey, for directions I say all the 3s, 3 miles south of the M3 junction 3.

For everyday transport I drive a Jaguar XKR Coupe 1234 ND with plenty of goodies from Racing Green at Ash Vale. I also have a Bugatti look alike a Teal often seen in Kit magazines called April (the reg number is RPA 1 L).

One of my sons has just sold a GT40 as we are about to build another, an exact replica even down to the right chassis.

Hope to see some of you around, the karting sounds good. went to the one in Aldershot with the GT40 Club the other week.
