2  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: The Beer Police on: June 22, 2022, 10:13:27 am
we took to presenting the bag containing bottled water and bog roll for inspection whilst having cans in our pockets and sweatshirt tied around waist to conceal them.
Did anyone frequent the bar(s) in the village to find a better choice of beer ? There were 3 lagers in the bar at the kart track, carlsberg, kronenbourg and one I’d not seen before + 1€  (which I chose) could’ve happily drank more of that .
3  Club Arnage / General Discussion / The Beer Police on: June 15, 2022, 05:15:50 pm
up until this year we’ve (Bleu Nord with TL) not had any trouble taking cans into the circuit, some years back there was (fairly) strict enforcement of no bottles, so we switched to cans ( mostly brought from home) for “at the track”, stubbies from Auchan on the campsite. Does anyone know the official policy by ACO on taking alcohol into the track ? . Anyone had their vehicles searched entering the track ? Have MB for the Classic and need to keep 11 hydrated for the weekend

Hello all, Carnet de Passage ? re taking a trailer to France , I linked through from the .Gov web site to the people who are tasked with issuing these and emailed to ask “ do I need a CDP to take a small trailer (2m x 1.4m to France for a short camping break ?”
got this reply....
Hi Tony,

Not if its registered to you and you can provide proof of ownership to overseas customs when crossing the border.

My problem is,  I got it part ex plus cash from my mate who built it
I think a CDP if required is £300 ish ?  we might as well take another (estate) car or for any post Covid 2022+ trips take a van instead ?  sans sausages and bacon of course

How to apply
You can get a CPD from:

CARS UK
The old Airfield Site
Bury Road
Chedburgh
Suffolk
IP29 4UQ
Telephone: +44 (0) 1284 333 812

Email: carnetservices@carseurope.net

After you’ve applied
Once issued, your carnet will either be posted to you or you can collect it from the issuing office.

They’ll also tell you how much to pay and the guarantee or security you’ll need to give.

Your CPD is valid for up to 1 year from the date of issue. If your journey goes beyond 1 year you may, in certain circumstances, get a second carnet or an extension. You must contact the local motoring organisation.

I got the somner tickets, it would appear its first come first served as no seat numbers on tickets
as for wet weather we got soaked on the terraces a couple of years back at the june event when the wind drove the rain off top front corner of grandstand behind us, people 10 places front, rear, left , right  were bone dry

Thanks Barry, I think Sommer will be the best all rounder. gonna be on foot most of the time but want a bit of cover if weather wet
7  Club Arnage / General Discussion / choice of grandstand on: February 04, 2018, 06:04:29 pm
Hi, we're heading for Le Classic and have choice of Sommer (16)  or Leonard (20) grandstand seats , these are two either side of the aco stand (18) any recommendations would be appreciated, i'm thinking the Sommer stand is of the more recent "semi permanent" type but would offer a better overall view of pit lane ?  thanks Tony

havn't been to the classic for a while, on ACO site they are offering grandstand seats with views of "large screens" I dont remember there being any coverage "on screen" last time i was there, can anyone who went in 2016 advise please
also anyone fell foul of the "dress code police" is this a recent thing ?

thanks Tony

Plagiarised from another forum............. Huh

A woman goes to the Doctor, worried about her husband's temper and threatening manner.

The Doctor asks: "What's the problem?

The woman says: "Doctor, I don't know what to do. Every time my husband comes home drunk, he threatens to slap me around."

The Doctor says: "I have a real good cure for that. When your husband comes home drunk, just take a glass of water and start swishing it in your mouth. Just swish and swish but don't swallow it until he goes to bed and is asleep."

Two weeks later the woman comes back to the doctor looking fresh and reborn.

The woman says: "Doctor that was a brilliant idea! Every time my husband came home drunk, I swished with water. I swished and swished, and he didn't touch me! How does the water do that?"

The Doctor says: "The water does f@ck all...it's keeping your mouth shut that does the trick...."

If , like me you applied for one of these (e111 replacement) when they first came out,  they are only valid for 5 years and mine expires may '09

You can renew on-line (see below)
