you've seen french fries being dropped into oil?
Imagine a 16 to 18 pound chunk of meat being dropped into oil at double the temp!

even if it is thawed, you'll get a little flare up.
gloves
apron
no shorts and no sandals are a must!

350 degree oil to the frontside of the body may put a damper on the weekend.
this stuff is truly nothing to mess around with-do it wrong and you will get hurt Shocked
I usually do 5 or 6 a year and see a lot of news stories about fried turkey mishaps.
on the other hand, those fryers can be used for so many things, I'd be lost without one
I've cooked;
crab
lobster
stew
and we recently had Chili for 15 an Mid-Ohio ALMS

Hardpoint inhales a beer

and Warlock joins him

the flobee1kenobi mid-ohio alarm clock Grin

I dont know your turkey frying experience level, but it only takes 3.5 minutes per  pound. And if you bring a frozen one with you, dont drop it into the oil unless you make very sure it has thawed completely-it could explode(no joke)

I've done several myself and I think it tastes better than the traditional, all day cooking method
6  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: More Fame For Turn 10 & YFDS - Don't read if Sick of Sebring on: April 15, 2006, 07:24:12 pm
Because it only took just over 24 hours to build that beeramid-and we were just gettin warmed up Grin

kind of like the look you would get on your face when you're walking by the lion cage at the zoo and notice the door is standing wide open Grin

I got a big kick out of watching people walk by our camp with a look of disgusted astonishment on their face Grin

scratch that-just found this comment on the icemaker

Update added 03/10/05: Please read the comments section linked to this review. Many consumers are reporting that this item works well for the first couple of months, and then will die after approx. 90 days.

I'm sure any amount of ice will help!

Cold beer is a must!

Thats the exact same icemaker I've been looking at. I had a plan to drain the coolers every morning into the icemaker and make more ice for that day. How heavy is that thing? I may still get one-double the Ice output Wink

12  Club Arnage / Help / Camping question on: February 13, 2006, 08:40:09 pm
Me and a few friends are planning on camping from Thurs. thru Sunday this year, and I've been reading horror stories about the theiving pikeys. Our electronics and major valuables will be locked up in the rental car, but are small 1 man tents  on their shopping list? Should I pack up the tent every morning to keep it from walking away?

13  Club Arnage / Just To Say Hi / Re: Greetings, All on: November 08, 2005, 02:53:35 pm
Hello to all!
I've been surfing this site for a while but been too busy to make a significant post.
I too am another one of the folks that followed Chop and the gang. This past year I went to Sebring, USGP, and Mid-Ohio for Alms and the Runoffs. Its still my first year at the new job so my traveling was pretty limited. I heard a few of you met the gang at Road Atlanta this year. Its basically the same group that went to Sebring, and hopefully will be making the trip overseas. This weekend we're all meeting in Columbus to Watch football and sort of get on the same page logistically concerning the race next year.
If anyone should happen to be in the tailgate lot between the Shott and the soccer fields, look for a beat up orange Minni Winni with 2 TV's and a big white canopy. Beers on me  Grin
14  Club Arnage / General Discussion / French riots on: November 08, 2005, 02:24:09 pm
Are the riots spreading mainly northeast, or are they just spreading all over the place? I hope they get it all out of their system by June. I heard this morning that it has started to show up in Bel. and Ger. so hopefully it has started to move in the opposite direction of the track

and oh, btw, Hello
I'm one of the new guys that joined the same time as Hardpoint and Warlock
I believe Canada Phil met Hardpoint at Road Atlanta this year. For me, Sebring and LeMans are locked and loaded-as is the USGP. Looking forward to seeing all of you folks at the track Wink
