1  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Shuttle bus chaos at Mulsanne on: June 20, 2009, 09:41:48 pm
Anyone else get caught in the bottleneck that is the shuttle bus service on the Saturday night? Joyous!

After queueing for over an hour at Mulsanne corner at around midnight and witnessing a fight almost break out between a CA member and a particularly irritating French man, then seeing the next bus go to the wrong end of the queue and pick up people that had just joined the queue, we decided to start walking. Fortunately we managed to get a lift after a few hours of walking away from the circuit! Stupid one way road system down there!

I'll point out that said CA member was simply defending the fact that he was in the queue first. They also decided to start walking as they were camped at Arnage corner so it wasn't quite as far to walk (though if you went the way we went, it was massive). If you're reading, did you get back ok?

It may also please you know that during our epic walk through the darkness, we came across a stopped shuttle bus and the angry french man that had kicked off previously had been ejected from the bus and was having a heated debate with the gendarmes present!

Never using those shuttle buses again!

Were they charging for the car parks at Mulsanne and Arnage? While queueing for the bus we didn't see any sign of enforcement of this rule. That was the only reason we didn't drive down there this year!
2  Club Arnage / Help / Re: Cannot access the Site on: May 26, 2009, 08:21:10 pm
Yep, Virgin Media here.

My external IP is: 86.20.153.0 at the moment.

Tried the Router/Modem reboot, to no avail.

Like people have suggested, I'm sure the problem is with Virgin, but I've not encountered it with any other sites as yet!
3  Club Arnage / Help / Cannot access the Site on: May 25, 2009, 10:38:53 pm
...Well then how did I post this??  Grin

Strange problem this, from my home broadband I can't access the site. To get access at the moment I've connected to my work VPN and I'm routing all my Internet traffic through the office.

Normally any other websites work fine, just clubarnage (and anything following it, the Le Mans guide for example) doesn't go anywhere.

I've tried pinging the domain from a command box and that isn't having any of it either!

Tried Opera, Firefox and IE, nothing from any of them.

Using the Rex Swain HTTP viewer over my home broadband can access the site.

This makes me think there some sort of IP restriction on the site? When I'm connected to the work VPN I'm coming from a different IP.

Any ideas? It's quite frustrating when you just want to check over the forums.

Cheers!

Whenever I hear the commentator, I always hear the "John-E, Urr-Beeaarrrrrrrttttt" from a few years ago!
5  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: What a weekend that was on: May 29, 2007, 02:23:04 pm
I wouldn't worry about missing the GP, assuming you were watching paint dry (you were decorating after all), that would have been far more interesting...

My weekend was fairly interesting, I had absolutely no plans, apart from tidying my room and sorting out some Le Mans related stuff because the "christ, it's two weeks" moment hit me a bit. So I washed a load of clothes, dug out waterguns and beachballs and battery chargers and things. Now I'm all sorted, and it's still two weeks to go really... haha.

I did start watching a load of Le Mans clips on YouTube though, and uploaded a few of my own!

I defy anyone not to get goosebumps:

6  Club Arnage / 2007 and earlier / Aston Martin Racing Team Shirt for sale on: May 26, 2007, 10:11:50 pm
Size: Large.

Reason: Too big for me. Bought last year from the Aston Martin stand at Le Mans, worn a couple of times but realised I look a bit silly as it's too big.

Bought for £40 or £50 maybe? I can't remember, I think I paid Euros.

It's the paddock shirt, button up, not the T-shirt.

Anyone interested? I can post images if anyone's serious and will take offers.
7  Club Arnage / Help / Re: Camping Passes on: February 06, 2007, 01:22:17 pm
We're after four.

We had our hearts set on being a bit more trackside. Last year we were on Bleu and suffered a massive amount of "can't be arsedness" on Sunday morning and didn't get to the track until about 2pm. We felt like we'd missed loads.
8  Club Arnage / Help / Camping Passes on: February 06, 2007, 01:02:06 pm
Well the ACO have royally screwed our group over with camping passes, offering us Beausejour only. And while we were waiting around for them, expecting to get what we were after (Karting Nord), it seems all the suppliers are now sold out of anything but Expo and Beausejour (and Tecnoparc, although the 2007 map suggests that Tecnoparc doesn't even exist this year, so that's a bit suspect).

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone knew of any other suppliers, that aren't Justtickets, MotorracingInternational, SelectMotorRacing, 1st-Tickets or RaceTours.co.uk... or eBay of course!

...Long shot I know, but we really don't want to be stuck in the middle of nowhere in Beausejour.
9  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Le Mans 2006 Video on: July 07, 2006, 12:28:17 am
Right so firstly, you may remember my video from last year, and I really must apologise for the distribution of the high quality copies that was going to happen, not actually going anywhere. My harddrive that contained the full quality video had a hissy fit and I don't seem to be able to get it back. I still haven't formatted it, in the hope that I may be able to retrieve it!

Anyway, onto 2006!

This video's quite different to last years (well, obviously, I'm not just going to recreate the same video am I?)
It's shorter, quicker, punchier, better edited, but unfortunately not quite as... "epic", and doesn't have as many cars...
It was hard to film stuff that was different to last year's stuff, to try and get an original video, as last year I got nearly 6 hours of footage!

Download link is here:

http://www.the365project.co.uk/Video/LeMans2006WMV.zip

That render is slightly the wrong ratio I think, but I can't fix it quickly, and if I could, I still can't be arsed, you'll have to make do!
I'll fix it next week when I get back from holiday!

And your comments/criticisms are always welcome!

PS, thanks to the T.W.A.T.S for all the stickers, that was great fun!  Grin

Yep, I was happy with Bleu Sud, apart from the Lotus 7 group! I just wish it could be a bit closer to the track.
We're looking at using Karting Nord next year, and getting a fairly trackside spot, I guess it's not quite as easy to get out to Carrefour and down to Arnage/Mulsanne, but it's less walking to see some action, which did hold us back on Sunday morning this year, we just couldn't really be arsed to walk through the blistering heat to get to the track!
11  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: My 2006 Photos on: June 29, 2006, 08:35:35 pm
LOL, I think seeing a Champion Audi crossing the line would be a bit suspect!
12  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: My 2006 Photos on: June 29, 2006, 08:22:41 pm
Don't have too high hopes, it's not likely to be as good as last year's, considering I hardly got any footage of the race/qually/general track action at all!
13  Club Arnage / General Discussion / My 2006 Photos on: June 29, 2006, 05:49:20 pm
I hope it's not a problem to have separate threads for people's photos, I thought it was a bit rude to intrude on someone else's thread with my pics!

Anyway, here we go, my pictures, split into the days:

Hmm, seems like webshots have wised up to people direct linking to the full sized images...

It's this one:
