There is nothing funny or entertaining about that video at all. I have watched someone get hit by a car. It's terrible. To glorify it like this is awful.
I LOVE motorsports. This is the kind of stuff that makes it go away.

Congrats to the British law agencies, they got their men. Way to go!!!! I'm glad to see that you guys aren't pussyfooting around with this deal. I wish we were as decisive. We are so hung up on violating some terriorists' rights it makes me want to puke. All the ACLU do gooders here in the US don't get it. Do you think I give a "you know what" about a terriorist at Gitmo who tried to kill our people and whether he is naked or humiliated? Yes, mistakes will be made and that is a sad and bad thing but speed and decisive action by brave people are what's called for when you are under fire. I'm just so happy that your law enforcement people have responded so quickly. They are to be admired.

Hardpoint, Well familiar with Centerville, lovely area. I went to Anderson High School down in Cincy and when I was there back in the late seventies and early eighties Anderson and Centerville were the two perennial contenders for the state championship in mens soccer. I think you got us in '78. Been going to Mid-Ohio since 1971. The '71 Can-Am was my first motor race, won by Mr John Young Stewart in a Lola-Chevy. Fax
Enjoy http://www.pbase.com/mwphotoI still have my race programs from the Columbus Camel GT races. That is fun reading.

Who are you calling Andy? I'm Andy! You can get in to the Masters if it is your desire to get in the Masters. Like in anything else, it's all in how you play your cards. Playing Augusta National on the other hand is a different topic. That is one round of golf that can't be bought. I love golf, but shamefully I have not picked up a club in a year. I grew up on a course ( http://www.nicklaus.com/design/muirfieldvillage/) and my house is in a golf course community now ( http://www.lakesclub.com/) but most of my time and funds are now devoted to motorsports. I still will hack it around every now and then though I love going to tournaments too. I have been to The Memorial Tournament 21 years, one Ryder Cup, U.S. Amateur and one lone Greater Greensboro Open.

Interesting pic there Chop. Last time I was there in the seventies, the flagstand was drivers right and could've sworn it was further up the straight over the crest. Lovely circut always. Fax
The flagstand id farther up the track than it looks in the pic. Also that is much larger and steeper hill than it appears. I know. I have ridden my bicycle up it several times.

The last few years I have flown into Tampa and rented a car, which is not bad at all. That way you get to experience exotic Zolfo Springs on the drive over . If you are going to do fly, drive and camp, it's not much more than an hour difference to fly into Tampa, Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, or even Miami or Ft. Myers. Sebring is equally in the middle of nowhere from all of those places. Get a few togehter and split a rental car. I have found that flyaway camping works well by packing gear (tent, sleeping bag, rollaway, etc) in a hard sided golf bag carrier. It's on wheels, the airlines can handle it and during the week it even makes a workable cooler in a pinch. My suggestion is to take a few extra days and spend it on the Gulf coast in St. Petersburg, Clearwater or Sarasota. They all have excellent white sand beaches.

They are in Edmonton this weekend for the first time. After Qualify 1 Wilson and his teammate Dinger are the class of the field. Justin has a decent shot at 2 wins in a row and a sold run at the Vanderbilt Cup! Allmendinger is the hottest American driver to come out in a long time. From what I hear he and Scott Speed were HATED rivals in karting.

Downshift, Break away and rip the sport apart? Nah, not really. In the early eighties at the height of the FOCA vs FISA wars there were threats of a "break away series" every year for about five years. Nothing new here. The sport would hardly be ripped apart, racing as a whole has never been more popular. There are several racing series that are in dire need of a shake-up of biblical proportions, F1 being one of them. But the sport will survive just fine. Maybe nows the time to cull some cancers in the sport Fax
I said the same thing in 1996. I guess it's just been hard being an open-wheel fan in America the past 10 years. I can't stand to see something like that potentially happen again. FTG!

Club Arnage / General Discussion / Fulham vs MLS

Coming up is Fulham FC vs MLS All Stars here in Columbus. I have some free tix if anyone is interested. I dunno how many Ohioans we have here (other than me and FAX). It will be nice to see Brian McBride back in CMH. His aunt and uncle are my parents next door neighbors. It's cool to see him kicking around the backyard with the neighbor kids.
