and my new favourite how far up the lamp post can we get an "I've been tw**ted" sticker. Hats off to the chap who did it all the way to the top, we salute you.

Perhaps you can throw some light on how I found three 'twatted' stickers in my kipsack on Sunday morning?  And, 'no', I didn't fall in fully dressed for them to fall off my shirt!!!

Jeez  - isn't drinking complicated enough already? Having to balance upright whilst holding a glass of varying mass in one hand!

Its worth pointing out that the police doing the chasing. thought that the guy had a bomb straped to himself, yet they carried on to the point of getting close enough to take him down.

How many of the people complaining today and calling the police murderers would chase, let alone pile onto someone they thought might have bomb in an effort to protect others?

It's especially brave considering the nature of the explosive they seem to be using.  TATP or acetone peroxide is EXTREMELY unstable, a  sharp blow or friction can be enough to set it off.

Worth remembering for any CA'ers in a heat of the moment 'have a go' mood (lots of people chased one of the attempted bombers a couple of weeks back), D'ONT attempt a rugby tackle!

One can only hope that some of the people weren't as badly injured as it seems they must be.

But, talking about the rally clips, spectators do seem to stand in the most stupid places - on the outside of a bend, just on the apex for gawd's sake!!!  Huh

An idea came to mind - to save explaining exactly who you are when chatting to fellow CA members, how about producing a badge with the CA logo on which we can write/stick our forum/post name?

Serious advice..!

I recently got the chance to talk to a pro (NO! not that kind) re digicams; asked why they were using those bloody huge cameras when all these dinky things were available.

His reply - stability.  Very difficult to hold something small and light perfectly still, you need a min weight to avoid being affected by natural tremor.  Hence all these  fancy 'image stability programs' on the dinky things - but there's always a price to pay in image quality.

Stability even more important when filming action sports when you have to pan with the action.  Apparently there's a minimum weight/mass below which its impossible to pan smoothly and at a steady rate.

And, of course, you will always use a tripod won't you?

Alternatively, a couple of shots of Tropicoma should smooth you out!

An alternative....................

The MOD are going to be auctioning off a load of RE bridging kit, landing craft etc.

How about if each team going to Le Mans buy one bit of kit each then run down to to a convenient beach and park end to end until we reach France?

We'll just have to pick the 'convenient beach' according to how many teams take part?

Alternatively; 'we' buy up all the LCT's  (that's Landing Craft Tank to the uninitiated) - we can probably get a dozen cars and trailers on each.  Then (assuming a shortage of Dept of Transport approved Sea Skippers amongst us) we disembark off a Jetty and just 'loiter about' till a ferry leaves, and follow it to France!

I've just read this back to myself; I'm either thinking about Le Mans too much or Tropicoma has some after effects that the makers don't tell you about!!
11  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Tropicoma on: July 25, 2005, 03:08:06 pm
There's an ad on the tv for some poncy yank fruitjuice, but I thought the catchline could be adapted...................

Tropicoma
Nothing added
Nothing taken away - except, perhaps, your consciousness!

I'm getting worried - I will suffer having football on while at Le Mans, but NOT if we have to a transvestite  running around the site all weeK!

Excellent Doris, I'll see if I can do it justice with my 'axe' in time for '06'!

In the good old days of the British Raj, terrorists used to be executed by being tied across the muzzle of a field gun, which was then fired!  I think the Royal Horse Artillery would be up for that, they must get fed up with just firing blanks all the time!?

But I really like the Shepherds Bush street party idea - why not have a Club Arnarge f**k the bombers party at the Argylle?
