46  Club Arnage / General Discussion / Re: Deadliest Crash, BBC 4 May 16th on: July 21, 2010, 07:25:43 pm

For those poor people (like me) who do not get BBC4. The powers that be in the BBC have been kind enough to show it again on "normal" TV at 2300 on Sunday 25 July. Following the MotoGP from the USA

The long answer is.

With out testing I'm not sure if I can just change the script to go on to Monday.  I'm pretty much out of time for such things given I have a Wedding to attend on Saturday and a motor Race to go to on Monday.   So rather than change it and break it I'll leave it alone at this late stage.  I will however bear it in mind for next year.   But my memory is not what it used to be so please remind me nearer the time.

That fine, I thought it might just be an easy option to add a day. I did not realise all the script had to be changed.

I agree the long range forecast is seldom accurate, however when it gets to about a week away the accuracy improves and it is quite good to see the general outlook they expect.

And yes I can visit the weather sites but the programme done by lawnmowerman is good in that it shows all the history all in one place.

Would it be possible to add Monday's forecast? Will we have to take down the tent in rain or sun?

Probably like many people we will be travelling back to the UK that day.

Thanks

Moto GP from Le Mans was on TV earlier today.

A nice sunny day 30 degrees. Looks like it is warming up nicely.

Hi,

Seem to recall flags in Houx and Houx annex from the late 80's. Mainly Jag flags or country flags

The one thing I notice about the picture of the camp site, is no flags.
When did they start appearing?
I'm not going through all my photos for the last 16 years to find the answer to that one. Shocked

We were flying a blow up dinosaur (as one does) by 1999, and there were certainly a few flags by then

We were there with a small Union Jack in the early and late 80's, Nordic, myself and his mates "Swampy and Semtex" among others???

Yep, he has always been my brother, normally camping with semtex and swampy! Grin

Started to see other "team" flags with the onset of the internet, what with CA, beer mountain, etc. Also lightweight flagpole's becoming cheaply available seemed to spawn more and more.

Surprised he has not jumped in but my brother NORDIC has a few photo's of 94. Not the one's you want though. Website in his profile.

That could make a good campsite then! Nice and flat, no stones or broken glass

Perhaps next door could keep a genny running all weekend.

If you ask nicely they may also let off a huge firework at 03:00 Sat morning after playing ABBA's greatest hits at volume 11 up till then.

Do all their kids have motorized scooters? If not get them some.

Oh, and don't forget the best of UB40 CD for Sat night

Hi,

I think that some of the roads have now been re-numbered partly due to the EEC road numbering system and partly due to the toll road being finished and the old 138 route no longer an N class road.

However, the 138 route more or less follows the toll road but as a lot of the towns now have bypasses / ring roads locating this one cafe could be a bit hit and miss. There are several places that you could stop en-route though, try Bernay or Sees as both are fairly large and both should have a choice of roadside cafes.

If I can locate my "old" map I might be able to list the towns you need to pass through.

If the concert is still on Wednesday 9 June it will be unlikely as UB40 are booked to play in Austria http://www.worldticketshop.com/concerts/ub40_tickets/79168_ub40_vienna

Might be possible if the day is changed to the Sat as usual though
57  Club Arnage / Help / Re: Just found out I can travel and need a campsite for two with tent already there on: March 20, 2010, 02:29:38 pm
It may or may not help but, there are very cheap tents available in the nearby Carrefour and probably other local shops, the tent might have to be left behind afterwards but as they only cost £30 odd it might be cheaper and easier than "buying" a pre erected tent. They also sell everything else needed for camping.

All you need then is a campsite ticket.

What was the last saloon car at LM?

Maybe the BMW3.5CSL? but was that not a sports car? Maybe the Venturi's what were they classed as? The Jag 220's?

Contary to all, I do see the BMW's doing well. They have factory blessing after all. However I think they will have a huge task to catch the Vette's who will probably be long gone and having passed the GT1 cars will be  snapping on the heels of the slower LMP2's.

Not sure about the Jag though. Could be a wild card

Is the JLOC Lambo included because it is still there spluttering around trying to finish the 2009 event?

Or is it a new attempt to get the car to work?
