Club Arnage / Help / History of motor racing

After watching all the wonderful old film clips on speed machines last night, I remembered a series that was run in the late 60's or early 70's on ITV's World of Sport, which told the history of motor racing through old film clips. Although I may be remembering it through rose tinted glasses, it was a excellent collection of early film footage.
Does anyone remember what it was called?
Is it available on VHS/DVD?
Does anyone have a recommendation on a similar theme which is available?

I think that the great design that Big H has done would look best on a T shirt, I agree that a polo design would need to be a little less flash. T for me vicar.

Big H Next time you are in Portugal try madronya slammers, a very intresting local beverage, ie fire water. It was the last night of my honeymoon, out on the piss with the wife, when we bumped into the reps in a local bar. Knowing I was a bit of a fan of the local brew, they suggested I try a slammer or two. A couple of hours later we were heading for a club dancing down the street arm in arm singing 'Star Trekking across the universe' as you did in foreign parts in those days, when we rounded a corner to be accosted by one the the local constabulary, who asked us to be quiet. I was just about to ask him to point his fazer elsewhere, when I realised that a fazer does not need to be cocked, as he had just done, but an Uzi does! As the ugly sod looked more like a Klingon than a decent member of the federation, decided that a quiet continuation of our journey would be in order. No moral to this tale, just be careful of the local brew, and if I'm about to sing, stick your fingers in your ears.

Nice idea if you are coming to LM in a sports car, I don't know if they let family saloons do this sort of thing Although the thought of Andy Z's commer sweeping off the top of the banking and overtaking exotica on the inside has brought a smile to my face this morning

When diesels are allowed to race at LM, I am sure that VAG will enter a car using this fuel. But under what brand? Seat or Skoda badged cars being entered might not be very far from becoming reality, although a possibility is a VW badged entrant.

Please go to the thread entitled 'Saving Montlhery' to find the link to sign the petition to save this track. Lots of people have signed already, including Phil Hill. French government does sometimes listen, especially if being accused of cultural vandalism.
J' accuse.

There is a petition that has been organized to try and save this historic circuit, the last intact high-speed bowl left in the world. If you have ever been to this wonderful circuit please sign the petition, so you can go again. If you have never been please sign, if it's saved you can go in the future. This is a petition organized by the French, and advertised in the Daily Telegraph in this country, so the response should be good, please take the time to sign up. Link is: www.motorlegend.com/montlhery/index.php

Very sobering article, is it just paranoid old me, or are the men in grey suits getting the kit to make our Big Brother nightmares come true?
